How do I know if I am gay?

Okay, this is a little awkward of a question, but I needed to ask it because I really need help with this. I used to like guys a lot, but I really got hurt by them and I just can't love them anymore, they even discust me really and I am feeling really different about girls. I notice different things aboout them and when my friend and I were looking in a magizine she was pointing out all the hot guys and I kept on turning back to the girls. I know this is really creepy, I am kinda scared myself that is why I am asking. I see some of my close girl that are friends and I sometimes think really wrong things about them . . . things I would want to do with them and that I don't know . . . is really wierd. My best friend is a gay guy and I have been trying to ask him how he knew he was gay, and although he is a really great guy . . . he couldn't really help me. So yeah, I really had to ask . . . sorry for the trouble but I am really feeling confused right now.

Well, you could be going through a stage of insecurity.
I thought maybe that I might be gay or something because I found women so beautiful, especially in magazines, and celebrities, but I realized that we're supposed to think that they're beautiful.
You have to let your instincts take over before you truly know..Think about boys, try living without them for a while, and then think on your crushes.
Anyway, I know for sure that I'm straight. I think women have beautiful bodies, and I WANT a body like that, but I also want a handsome boyfriend.

Basically, your instincts will tell you.
Don't confuse admiration with love. Women are beautiful, but so are men. Just forget that one/some hurt you. There ar better ones out there, I promise.

I agree with Truest lies. You may admire how women look, or think they're pretty. You can't say they're ugly just because your straight, right?

I don't know, I guess. But it's not just that their pretty . . . I don't know. I noticew things about them like almost checking them out sort of.

another girl asked that same question before on this site, and I think it was stacy who replied "kiss a girl. if you enjoy it, your gay. simple as that" (something along those lines). I thought it was funny but try it out, it might help you decide.

Sorry guys I know this is a wierd topic. I just am really wierd right now I guess. I was at a party last night with some friends (completely clean party) and I was sitting next to the girl who was having the party watching a movie and I kept on checking her out, and it really freaked me out that I was doing that but I couldn't help it. Yeah, just wierd little me again.

i agree with bob, cause like u kno if ur gay or lez at an early age, it says so on many scientific expiriments and stuff so i dont think that u can "become" gay?? mayb mayb not.

well maybe you're not gay. maybe you just got hurt by guys and for now they discust you...but someone new could come along that you might really really like. and as far as lookin at those girls in the magazines goes...maybe you just wanna look like them. like you...I don't know. No I have not figured out yet, but I was really happy that people cared enough to reply. I know what you guys are trying to say about the magazines, but what I am saying is that I am looking at them differently. But honestly I don't know. I just know what I feel and I don't know what to do with it or what it means. I was just hoping someone else would know, but that is kinda crazy, but that just shows you how insane I am going right now.
