Winfixer

Anyone else get an incredibly annoying pop-up from Winfixer each and every time you type in poems-and-quotes.com? Every time I click cancel and every time it won't listen to me and starts downloading a bunch of junk!!! I just wanted to know if it was just my computer or the site.

YES!!!!!!!! god i hate those. and idk what it is but it is super annoying.

Yeah, I've got that - is that from here? Cause my virus protector says it's a virus and that it is trying to do some security breach thingee.

yep i get them all the time. i have my magic ways tho, instead of pressing cancel (it doesn't care if you want it or not lol) click the X in the corner,

Ctrl + Alt + delete, then find winfixer and end task!
if you click anywhere on it it jst downloads some rubbish. hope i have helped!

Yeah, I'm working on my friends computer and theirs must have a different virus blocker than I do, because there are NO pop-ups at all! Not even the WinFixer one!

It's not only winfixer ad, there are much more other ones. Ha this site is nothing, a website where I submit my music to frequently has a stupid installer thing every time you go to a page and you have to click cancel like 5 times and after you cancel there is an ad.

Solution to this problem for Windows XP user.

(First I would like to say that the pop-up is an adware virus)

An adware virus is similar to spyware but it generates series of ads, everytime you go to a certain place.

Anyways,

If you have windows XP you can stop this.

Tools/Internet options/ Privacy/ Pop-up blocker/ options(or settings) / Level set HIGH Ctrl to overide.

This will set all pop-ups or new windows to be blocked. To open a new window you must hold ctrl and click.
