Take both Economics and Accounting. Eco is really easy and straightforward, if you're good at maths types of subjects then you'll understand it easily. Yes, accounting is more mainstream atm but you will probably have an advantage taking both these subjects as they complement each other.

Studying and understanding economics will give you a knowledge of financial markets and regional, national and global economies.

Most problems that economists work on are either forecasts or "What if" questions. For example, "What direction are interest rates headed and what effect would a 1% rise in interest rates have on the rate of unemployment."

My mother is an economist. She uses a proprietary model she developed together with an economics professor. It is used as a tool for economic forecasting that is published in her newsletter and goes out to corporate and institutional subscribers. She also does some private business consulting and arranges business financing.

And she is extremely well paid.
