Hi Lauren. Straight Edge is a lifestyle that includes abstaining from drugs and alcohol (including cigarettes) and also from being promiscuous (sleeping around). Many straight edge people are also vegan or vegetarian. For more information you can go to:

I commend this lifestyle. Abstaining from drugs and alcohol is good for the body, the mind, and (if you choose to believe it) the soul. Sex in and of itself is not a bad thing. Sex with many/anyone with no regard or thought for the consequences and for no good reason is. Now, the vegan/vegetarians can keep that to themselves. I couldn't live without meat. lol

Yeah, =P I myself eat meat. Not all edgers are vegetarians, but many are because a large number of animal rights activists are straight edge.
And I want to verify about sex, being straight edge doesn't mean you can't have sex. It's fine if it's with a girlfriend/boyfriend/fiance'/spouse that you really care about.

awsome violet =D. And no, Ismail, it's not a fad diet. Fad diets are like slim fast, jenny craig, and weight watchers. Straight edge is about keeping your body healthy and your brain functioning. Its a Lifestyle. Nothing fad about it. =)

i just found out about it (thanks btw) and well berore i even knew there was a label for it i have been straight edge. its cool to know there are other teens ((and other ppl)) who want to live a good life and not do drugs or have sex or anything.
now i have sXe written on my hand and i have gotten a bunch of my friends to become edgeers too. its the best lifestyle to live so why not live it?
