9/11 to soon?

You all know that movie thats supposed to come out in August "united 93"...its about the 9-11 terroist attacks..I just wanted to know everyones opinion on whether or not its to soon to relive that tradegy or not...in my city there has been a lot of talk about it and I wanted to know what you thought

Personally, I'm unsure..i guess I'd want to know why people feel its to soon? I know its a heartbreaking thing, I cry everytime I watch footage from it, but is that why its to soon? Is it to emotional or something? I mean eventually this movie will have to be made so what is the difference between now or in a few more years? What will make people more ready?

Is it not the same as Titanic? Or Pearl harbor? Yes that was a while ago but don't we get choked up watching those too?

    Just curious is all..

My opinion on all this is a movie could be ok. Meaning they have to tell the story right not hollwoodify the movie you know what I mean?

I was actually talking to my Aunt about this and she cant beleive they are making a movie about it and saying why would anyone want to see something so devistating.

I really had no reply to her. As I am also on the line about this movie. I know this has to be a lot harder for some people.

they should not make a movie about those poor peoples families deaths its rude

It's not rude in the least bit.

The families consented to having this movie made.

"my teacher said a lot of families are oking it because they somehow get money for it especially if they have kids"

^So it seems that the families aren't having that much "devastation" if they're getting a cut of the green, eh?

I think what everyone's problem is seeing it all over again. A mix of emotions, anger and sorrow. I always cry because of what a tragedy it was. I had family in New York that were buried under the rubble and they were missing for weeks.

Sure, people can watch Titanic and cry. They can watch Pearl Harbor and cry. People will watch United 93 and actually REMEMBER.

There's also supposed to be a movie released with Nicholas Cage as a firefighter, who was trapped under the rubble of the World Trade Centers.

And i'm going to see both of the movies...if the second movie is ever to be released.

Well, I don't know, uh, the discovery channel did a neat docudrama on 'the flight that fought back' or something or other. and michael moore's farenheit 9/11, which had very little to do with 9/11, but more with the lost 2000 election for democrats and the war in Iraq.

The best portrayal of 9/11 I've seen so far has been the segment Penn & Teller did on conspiracy theories. They really put it in perspective.

As for other fictionalized accounts..there might be some books being written. have been written. that later films could be based on. 25th Hour, also a movie, Spike Lee, touches on the post-9/11 New York atmosphere.

I'd mention Syrianha too, but I'd rather recommend the pre-9/11, George Clooney / Nicole Kidman anti-terrorist film The Peacemaker. because it's better.

    Ew...Nicolas Cage...

This is a story that will continue to be told as part of American history...but always remember there are two sides to every story...

I think it is about time to show people the dramatization of an iconic event in american history.

People are quite ready for it....

Guess what I found out about 9/11

Open wordpad and type in Q33 NY.

That's supposedly the flight number of the first plane to hit the twin towers.

Now put it in 48 pt. font.

    Now put it in Wingdings..

Do you know what it looks like?

Yeah, old sotry lol. Thats not how they decided by the way - it's just odd coincdence. I think it's good brining out the movie - shows people can accept it. I mean - everyones saying we have to fight terrorism, and by crying, never talking about it, and having special days dedicated to it - thats just what they want us to do. If we brought out a movie, and talked freely about it - put on a show of uncaring ( im not saying that i dont care - I feel greatly for the people involved) they might stop. It;s the same as bullying, ignore it and they go away because you're boring.

    Thats my opinion anyhow.

    Peace. [Sole]

So...I have mixed feelings about it. I think in many ways it's good for people to see what happened...but will they show what REALLY happened? It'll be horrible for people who were directly affected by it (because of family killed) to relive such a tragedy especially to benefit someone's pocket.
