Cant upload a picture

please cud anyone tell me how to get a pic on my profile./
every time i try it says can not upload this picture

thank you for your help but it's still not working.
my picture is only 1.56kb and it still won't upload.
i really dont know what im doin wrong

its JPG but i still cant get it to work.

Just in case you don't have it yet:

1) Right click on the picture

2) Goto "open with"

3) Choose "Paint" (if "Paint" is not there, on that

same menu goto "other" locate "Paint" from that list.)

4) The picture will open with the windows "Paint" program.

*** Resizing the picture ***

5) In the "Paint" programs menu choose "Edit"

6) Go down to "Select All" (it will select the whole picture.

7) Right click on top of the picture, then click on "Stretch/Skew" a window will pop up.

8) On the "stretch" prompts you can type a number and according to that number, the picture will get bigger or smaller. In this case you want to get it smaller I suppose. make sure the Numbers are the same. For example: Horizontal 50 and Vertical 50 will reduce the picture by 50%.

*** Saving the picture as a Jpeg file ***

9) After tinkering a bit. Go to "File"

10) Down to "Save As"

11) Type a name or use the same name for "File Name" (Don't save yet)

12) First click on the bottom arrow under "Save As Type"

13) Choose Jpeg from the list.

14) Click save.

*** Now try to upload it to this site. ***

Note 1: Remember you can experiment with the size.
Note 2: Remember you can save it as a GIF file instead of a Jpeg File
Note 3: By right clicking on the picture, go to property.. you can see how big the picture is.
