Chat Moderators

I have a suggestion, appoint adults as moderators instead of a bunch of kids.

Moderation in chat room is no joke at all and should be treated professionally. I've seen people banned and kicked for no apparent reason, some of the current moderators choose to silence certain people without giving them a chance to speak, in other words they are usually saying 'stfu and listen to me'.

Alot of people have been banned for no real reason, and due to the fact that most moderators appease those who try to get their point across, it makes them dictative. I'm not going to name any right now, nor am I going to complain too much about it. But for those who have learned this themselves, inspire others to witness it.

It's either the guildlines which need the "stfu and let moderators do what they want with your lousy name" rule, or maybe it's the website that needs better moderators.

Over all the chat isn't too bad, sometimes the moderators make this website seem so negative though.

Any thoughts on this?

You made a lot of claims about what moderators have done wrong, do you have evidence?

By the way, I'm not being pretentious or difficult, it is just hard to discuss this sort of thing in any sort of constructive way unless there is evidence to look at.

^^That doesn't mean anything to me. Please give evidence before or directly after making claims like that. Thank you.

They frequently give a warning, kick, then ban.

No, no warnings really, the only thing Brianna was talking about is that she was banned for saying
'sebob', then her friend asked why she was banned, and her friend was banned in the prosses of asking. So go figure.

The person in question may have been banned already, or may have stated inappropriate things in a private message.

I so disagree! They are what makes this site work, they keep is in line and tell us off when we are naughty! Sure, they aren't perfect, but they are doing the best job imaginable. If you have a problem with the chat.... just don't go in there....

Yeah the current mods don't know how to do their jobs, I had to tell one off not too long ago due to the fact of how ridiculous and one sided he was.

I'm happy now I guess, though I should be permanently banned due to the fact that I was ordered by him not to speak after the 'end of discussion' mark. I made sure to make it good and disobey his improfessional gestures.

So... vengence is sweet. =)

I just want to try to consolidate all of these comments into one place.

As far as unfair kicks and bans, all I can say on the subject is that I am not a fair judge on the events occuring in the chatroom, as I almost never enter it. I will say that the times that I have, I didn't see anything unfair. That said, I wouldn't deny the possibility that there has been unfairness. However, as someone who has not witnessed it, I feel that I'd either like to see it myself or see evidence of it before believing it. I think that is my right as a free-thinking individual.

David, I would not suggest that you leave the site, or shut up. I think it is good that you wish to be heard and fix what you think is a problem. Please continue to do so.

I'm glad that some of us have seen it/experienced it for ourselves. If anything Sean evidence isn't something that should be brought up... I'd rather have it directed towards none of the moderators specifically and all of them in general at the same time. I haven't been on this site very long, yet out of every moderator I have met, only one of them seems to play it honest and with reason.

Polly, with what you just said I find it hard to believe.
I tend to find females on the brighter side of the mods anyways- this may not be complete truth but it's very subliminal to those who can observe.

They never told me when I was naughty, I never was and I don't plan to be. But although I am not one of the victims of the chat, in this case, I still do think that most moderators are completely unjust and deserve a 'kick' themselves. I've seen people violate the guidelines which I must say I've read about 5 or 6 times honestly, this is fair, but for those who try to voice their opinion and question authority due to a punishment, a 'warning' or should I say a 'threat' that occured with reasons aside from the guidelines, and for them to get booted or banned just for trying to give their perspective on the whole matter is complete nonsense.

The chat is full of kids, some adults, but for the most part kids. Kids need chaperones, not these other teenage-like people who have already proved to be insufficient for the job.

And just for the record, and with all I've said and the people here as my very own evidence that this exists, these moderators are NOT doing the best job imaginable as you have said. And maybe it's best that I don't just let this be, I do have a problem with the chat, and I, just like the other people here already in this thread, would very much stick around and make sure that there's a change.

And as far as getting screenshots/copying and pasting, I understand the difficulty involved, and wish there were a better way to go about it. But unless someone gets us a better chatroom code, it is a bit stuck.

There is no point of proff, because the mods will jsut deny it, well, one of them will, I will not speak of his name, but it is usless. So I would say, just watch him.
