A Reason WHY some people are Leaving!

Bob is an amazing person, friend and poet! But this site need not and does not revolve around him. He had extremely valid and personal reasons for moving on.

What we should do is turn this conversation into a brainstorm of positive aspects of how to improve the site rather than continuing to whinge and bitch about the past ...

Many many moons ago I made a comment saying that receiving a 1 on your poems is the greatest accolade you can get.

If someone is so jealous of your work that it makes them go out of their way to down vote you it means you are on the right track.

Next time you see a 1 vote, smile and know you're improving.

She's not jealous, she doesn't even HAVE any poems. She just wants to TEACH me A lesson For Going against Bush.

Ha, I want to see her face when she reads my latest poems telling her the site can trace her, suspend her and reverse everything.

What is happening to this place? There is so much craziness going on. Did I read right...someone is actually threatening to sue. And Angelina and Steven Beesley have been suspended?!?!?!? So many people are leaving the site too!

I think all the moderators shouldn't be suspended right now. Right now is a time we need as much help as we can.

Let me Rephrase myself about Freedom of Speech

People are abusing it in controversal ways. People use it to be rude, to accuse, to backstab and whatever else. Then from the other side, People who respectfully say their opinions are name-called and hated.

So in truth I guess, There really isn't such a thing called Freedom of Speech without having it backfire somehow

It's important for people to speak up!! there are lots of ppl here who -I bet- only speak up in their poetry... And then they get bad comments, they're downvoted.. That's so not good! It's sad that there are ppl leaving.. I love this site, though I've been downvoted a couple of times to.. But it's just a great way to express myself, and if someone doesn't like that, well, I don't care. But I hate them putting what I've worked on so hard down. I don't like that. I hate that.

Same here, oh well, you can't stop people all the time. Some people just need to get a life or something instead of ruining other people's life.

am i the only person that seems to be ok....i have respect for others and everyone who has talked to me seems to be respctful toward me...

i havnt had bad votes or comments...all comments i have recieved im greatful for as they help me fix my writting even if they are mean and harsh-id rather it that way so i can eventually get it right..

mind you saying all that-im not very well known on here so that could be why i get along with everyone i meet.

Well Lucky you, just wait till you start talking or writing about certain topics that have two very different sides.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if people read some of my poems, they would be very unappreciative towards them...actually, I'm almost 100% sure of this.

I do agree that this site may be a little overprotective about we are able to say. I also think that people shouldn`t downgrade other people`s poetry just because they simply "don`t like it" or are offended.
I don`t really agree with the fact that this draws people away from the site. We are not the owners of this site and should respect the rules of the owner. It`s not really up to us whether or not we can swear or downgrade people`s poetry.

^^^ i dont know how many times i have told people this. i agree with 'itailion stallion'(er someone like that) that he leaves the reason of why a post was deleted, that is good. i also say that you cant get mad at the mods for everything and you cant get mad over all of the rules. i know i am going against some of your opinions, and that is what you have been arguing about all along, but i do not respect the fact that you will be angry at mods (or anyone else) about the rules here. the mods are the same as us and they only remove things from the site b/c it is against the rules or another good reason. helpful hint: read the sites rules

The owner hasn't even paid us much attention. And, when you've been a member for a long, some offensive things do tend to get annoying. Also, people who downgrade other people's poetry do get punished.

I'm just saying that cause your profile shows you're a pretty new member
