Police

I want to rant and rave here about the police. I don't know what it's like in other countries (please let me know in this thread) but if you ring the police here in the Uk they turn up sometime an hour or so later and sometimes the next day: local police stations have been closed down with anumber written outside for you to ring.

Saturday night a friend of mine (female) was in distress. She rang the police and they never showed up until Monday -MONDAY-! The police woman talked on her phone to her coleagues, during the statement, calling the incident: 'the one we missed'!!!!!

You can bet the police on duty that night flagged down a huge number of drivers and did them for no tax etc etc: meanwhile my friend was being confronted by a psycho and there was no back up.

This is happening all over the uk and it's not good enough. If I become vigilante for one evening - and boy would I love to - and took the law into my own hands in an effort to protect a loved one, the courts would slam me.

What are your views on the police/ing? Are we being failed by them?

Should we not look at the state governments who run and fund police stations rather than the guys and girls out there TRYING to do the best job they can, putting there asses on the line with the limited resources and shit pay they have??

well, i dunno about all cops...but my step-mom is a cop and she's pretty darn cool... =) i think some are probably lazy, but others are doing the best they can.

When they aren't ignoring crimes committed by Masons, the police are alright, one tough job, I see them in the same boat as social workers, basically they have to deal with the fact our society doesn't work the way it is set up right now...[kinda like this website actually]

They seem super fast whenever we have a party in my flat and I start playing drums for a jam session...yeah suddenly it's Robocop..

When a call goes out that there's a potential psycho kicking-off it goes around the squad cars like a hot potato. The police need arming - badly. I need arming - probably.

There was an old-school of police that would turn up at incidents, give you a slap and tell you to go on your way. Not now. Police aren't feared in this country. They would if I was in charge of them though!!

lol cops are corrupt here in New York...really, they don't give a hoot about the people's safety. "To Protect and to Serve" really means "To get paid and have a good pension." That's all there is to it. The majority of the Police Men here in NYC are careless and rude, but once in a lucky blue moon, you will find a genuwine gentleman.

my town has 3 cops 2 curisers that are always parked beside each other talking, and we have a hot chick that only gives out parking tickets on main street

Sarah: I've seen your NYPD - infact they're on my f**king tv everytime I switch the godam thing on! They always get their man. They always eat burgers on the side walk and talk family. They always give chase at high speed. The guy who's about to retire always gets partnered up with a psycho partner just before his retirement, but it works out fine as they knock another drug dealing pimp scumbag off the streets of NY - then they become good friends.

I've never been to the big apple but in my living room I'm in NY every freeking night.

Our small town police are SOOOOO Annoying! Because nothing ever happends they get you on the LITTLEST things. Like driving on the grass or going 3 mph above the speed limit. And they love their power to decide the speed limit in bad weather situations. Teens get it the worst though because they like to pull kids over for "looking suspicious" My friends sister had her car searched and was cheaked for intoxication without even doing anything wrong.
