To put an end to terrorism ban the teaching of religion. Discuss

This god that god etc etc. Here's my opinion. We all think that because we have such a developed brain, emotional system and IMAGINATION that we can't possible just fade into the earth and die. we've constructed grand narratives over the centuries (texts) that convince us we are immortal (some more than others) and we have become separated by these narratives dependant on culture.

Fighting and dying for these narratives is like me terminating the guy down the street for his preference in the Star wars trilogy over my preference for Rocky. This is how simple it is on such a grander scale. But no one will believe......just in case.

I agree that religion have and will cause many more problems.

I agree that religion should be a personal belief, not something you would force others to believe.

I agree religion should not be taught in school because of the conflicts between differen't religion.

BUT just banning the teaching religion won't stop terrorism. Religion has been going on since the beginning of humans, has been passed down from generations. Even if schools don't teach religion, parents will.

Liking Rocky over Star Wars should warrant a suicide bombing. or atleast a very agitated e-mail.

The God by which ever name he be known in the semetic religions is the SAME GOD. Allah is merely the arabic word for God. Islam like Christanity stems from the original religion of Judaism. You are right however, we DO believe in Moses and Jesus Christ only difference is that we believe they were both PROPHETS of God (Just as Muhammed was) not the "son of God" as depicted in the Christian faith. He is no less an important part of our religion as he is to Christianity just in a different lime light. We believe that First Moses brought the Torah, that then Jesus brought the bible and that the third and final prophet Muhammed then brought the Koran the third and final revelations.
Hey I know an Australian Islamic organisation sends out free copies of the Koran translated in English but Im not too sure where your from Lovely Bones?? Why dont you email me or something and I can organise something for you. I am more than happy to help someone like yourself who is willing to educate themselves on Islam or on any other topic they are intrigued to learn mroe about - I really commend people like yourself.
