Burns

If you get a burn what are you supposed to do?
I know you're supposed to run it under cold water, but then what?
I just burned myself... nothing serious but it's red and hurts.
I was straightening my hair and I accidently touched the hot part of the straightner (it had been running for probably 15-20 minutes).
    What should I do now?

Heather, dear, I do this ALL the time. All you have to do is run it under some cold water for a few minutes, maybe even put some ice on it. By tomorrow, you`ll hardly know its there. =D

It's actually room temperature water that's best. just a few weeks ago I burned myself with a really old, really hot curling iron. I pretty sure it's going to scar. Burns are the worst. Sence the skin is only red you probably don't need neosporin or anything.

If it's such a dumb question why leave a comment?

Hahaha sorry but this made me laugh because I have a scar on my left hand from doing the exact same thing!! I do it all the time and it makes me mad actually...I'll straighten my hair and burn my ear or finger and I'll be like "ahhh Chelsey you idiot!"...I bought some brun creame from the pharmacy and if the burn is real bad like mine..it will help it from scaring...even though I got a scar, but thats because I waited two days to get it and felt it still hurt!....uhh the things us woman do to make ourselves beautiful

Put it under water, not TOO cold, apply aloe vera gel and try to air it. If you want, a thin strip of material doused in water left on the burnt area can help, and also applying ice to numb it..

That's all I can think of.
