Before, when I was 12, most of the people who commented on my poems always said "Wow, you're so young to be writing this, etc" Now, these types of comments have stopped.
It's as though writing your emotions when you're 12 is unique, but once you're a teenager no one is surprised if you are depressed or angry anymore...
Hum, it just got me thinking.

I think we sometimes forget how early kids start noticing stuff about the world. we more often remember how we would distort these observations based on our understanding at the time. so when someone younger seems to have feelings of genuine anger and depression, people listen. I mean, it's hard to see inside another person's head, though, yes, teenagers are expected to be angry.

Though I hope you can resolve any of these issues you are facing, and best of luck to you.

Yes, but a month later, I turned 13, and then... well, then it was ok that I wrote this way.

Yea. now that you mention it , i do actually notice how it seems "OK" for teenagers to feel sad and depressed. It's quite unfair that just cause a few do actually feel this way its just brushed off wen you are saying to people that you feel alone etc.

most people consider teenagers and adults to be depressed so it is so called "normal" to write sad things and not think twice but when younger kids do it is like a shock beecause most people think that everythign is happy go lucky for young kids wwhen in actuality it is not which is very sad to say :(

Yeah, everyone finds it really hard for someone who isn't an adult or teenager to be writting things of depression and what not down. Really, I don't see why someone who is 12 can't have as good of an Emotional or sad poem as anyone else..
