76 years isn't that long. We change stuff all the time and technically they have a very valid point.

In reality the only people this is going to affect is our kooky friend the astrologist.

This whole topic kind of confuses me to be honest. Whether it is technically a planet or not, people are still going to refer to it as one. Why is it such a big deal?

Whoa, can someone please explain to me what is going on? What rare they doing to Pluto, if anything, and what is the reason behind it?

Pluto has been down graded to a dwarf planet.

o_O and this is so important because... okay, I get what you mean. How unjust, I mean, it's still huge... no matter what you call it.

    I kinda think it's funny.
I feel sorry for little Pluto, it's not a planet, but a dwarf planet. And what acronim (I spelled it wrong I know) teachers will use when teaching the little kids the planets? I feel sorry for all the little kids they now have to get a new acronim.
Like I said, I find it funny. I honestly don't see why it's so important to make it officially a dwarf planet... I mean it doesn't seem like anyone is going to go there any time soon.

Scientists discover things all the time that overule certian theories we all thought were true.. like the earth being flat... we just move on and accept the new information....

Isn't it in our nature just to understand how everything works, and what it is?

So Pluto's not a planet. Lots of people thought this anyway, and why teach facts that are proven wrong?

As for the acronim, you can surely think of another one right?

The debate about if Pluto is or is not a planet has been going on for years. At least now we know its definately not one. Plus they could always discover another planet in our solar system.
I just feel bad for the little kids who spent all last year learning Pluto was a planet only to be told it was wrong. but thats kinda funnny =P

I was kidding about the acronim thing, I'm sure someone can. Just pointing out how I thought it was funny, that's all.

Yea, and now all those unlucky bastards who make textbooks will have to take the time to put out all new additions because the old books say that pluto is considered a planet. What a shame, they have to change that aspect so we can run out to the store to pick up the new volumes to be accurate to the class.

i cant believe they dont classify pluto as a planet anymore... it orbits the sun, therefore it should be a planet. gosh, people are so stupid sometimes.
