Can Anybody Help Me?!

I am currently studying Eng Lit, and we are covering the poem 'The Highway man'.
One of my questions that i have to answer is 'desribe the imagery in the first seven lines.'
I'm not sure what to say about it.

    The first seven lines are
'The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees.
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas.
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,
    And the highwayman came riding-
    Riding-riding-
The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door.
He'd a French cocked-hat on his forehead, a bunch of lace at his chin,'

    Can Anyone Help?!
    Thanks.
    xx

I also study English Literature, but havn't come across this poem.
Ok so I would say the imagery described is that of a kind of sullen scene, maybe with a slight hint of something more sinister? I really like the lines

"The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees.
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas.
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor"

Although it sounds kind of dark and sinister, you also get a sense of delicate-ness, and it creates this beautiful image.

Hmm that probably doesn't help much ...

you should put that it describes mystery, and makes the reader wonder, (who is he, why is he respected?)

I have read this poem and think it is mint, i did it in yr8 so i can't remember what the teacher said exactly but she commented on the repition!
