I'm sorry, but I need to rant. Typed in Anger.

I refuse to leave this situation untouched, because it is getting on my every last nerve.

I'm very sick of people with their typing, spelling, or punctuation errors.

It is my pet peeve when people don't type correctly, because I try my best not to make mistakes. I hate it when people use numbers to stand as letters, for example "4" is supposed to mean "for."

It's just a few keys, if you're too lazy to type out a word correctly, you don't deserve the internet.

If you haven't noticed, a lot of people make a point to type correctly. Respect other people, make your messages legible. L33t and Binary are not our languages.

    . . . I'm finished.

Not 'our' languages... Who is this 'our'? Everyone in this site? I personal do beleive that people should type out the entire word, unless the topic is about that type of typing, or clearly labeled as a place to type like that, but I still see 1337 as a useful form of entertainment, so it is part of my languages...

I, however, also hate it when people use netspeak in poems. Poetry is suppose to show your best literary effort, using netslang in it does not scream 'best effort' to me, and it also makes it harder to read.

ye, it might be a few keys to u! but 2 me, it makes a whole world of difference! I personally am not bothered when peple do this but i think you might want to think outside te box!!

P.s. I don't normally abreviate but i chose to make an ezception!! Please think about this! it doesn't really matter does it? and to let yourself get stressed over it?!

^ Yes but it looks messy, sloppy and as though you cannot be bothered with the correct English language. Is it really that hard to type those two extra keys in "2"?

Yeah, it annoys me as well, but i just let it go. If people don't know how to use proper grammar, it's their own fault. I don't really see what's sp difficult about typing the whole word. It really is messy and a challenge for most people to read.

I'm not really bothered by this at all. When i post a new topic or write a new poem, i write properly, there might be a few spelling mistakes (please let me know and i will correct) but other than that, my typing is normal.

Often i simply forget to put something like this ( ' , "") in to my conversation and sometime's but not all the time forget about capital letter's. This is because i am normally trying to do several thing's at one time.

However, when i'm in the chat room's i type short hand text, as conversations scroll up so fast that if i type properly people are asking questions as to who i am talking to since i am 2 minuets behind the rest of the conversation.

Sometime's i have alot to say and have to type it all out quickely before i forget it all, that is another reason i shorten things and use numbers instead of letters to make a word or to use by themself...

    (W8=wait and 2/4=to/for)

Apolagies (*appolagies???) to anyone if i offend by typing short hand text, it's just how i am, i must admit my grammer could use a little bit more work.

Currently installing a programe to teach me, how to use a keyboared correctly, and to better my spelling and grammer.

Thank you for your time and patients in reading this.

I agree, it hurts my head to try and read some of that short "msn talk" or whatever.

I can understand that it's faster, so I try not to let it bother me and just don't bother to read it if it's typed like that. The thing that I don't understand is when people type a word differently and it ends up longer than the actual word. (Example: "you" as "yooh"). What's the point in that? :S

i think you might have OCD.

It's the internet, people do whatever they want.

  • Emily

I don't consider it OCD, I consider it people burning my eyes out by refusing to add a few more keys to a word.

I read a little too much slang.

    hahaha,
i know, it does tick me off too but if i cant read it
    then i just dont try.

and by the way, i didnt mean for it to be a

If I can`t read it, it ticks me off .
But s`long as I can understand it, then it doesn`t bug me .
Sometimes I have a habit of spellin` things wrong .
Like for "you" i sometimes write "yu."
Got it off my friend`s but tryin` to make myself as understandable as possible xD
But if I wanna type correctly, I can .

when i was in fifth-seventh grade i would im my friends and we would talk like this:

me: heyy gurliez we shud go bike ridingg!!!!!!!!
friend1: yahhhh!!!! zat wud b totly awsum!!
friend2: w8 a scnd gota ask mi mom.
friend1: yyyy?? she nevr sez yes!!
me: mabe she wil this tiem!

by the way: i spelled time wrong on purpose, then.

now a days i'm much better at typing, so i dont really see the point of using chatspeak. BUT one thing i dont really do is use capitals. like my "i"? yeah... that's just laziness. lucky me, though it doesn't drive me crazy and i dont mind people using "lol" or "g2g" or other abbreviations because i've had years of practice and can understand it pretty well. actually, some of my friends yell at me for typing so well... they say i should use more chatspeak so it takes them less time to read it!

Lol, I know, and I didn't mean to say it like I was snappy either, heh.

I don't mind when people say "lol" or "g2g" or "brb" but I don't like it when people use letters to abbreviate everything, and who are too lazy to put a few extra letters in a word.
