Sooo yeah. My teacher had us do make a whishlist and only like 3 kids out of a 30 student classroom DID NOT ask for -material- things.

    ___

Here's a wishlist done by children from ages 5-12, in different parts of the world.
    ___

    Children in America:
    91% - Swimming Pool.
    96%- Big Screen T.V.
    93%- Own Limo.
    91%- Hot Tub.
    98%- Trip to Disney.

    ____

Now, here's the same survey done in different parts of the world...

    Children in:

Yuganda- 90% asked for a cure for AIDS.
    Ethiopia- 91% clean water/food.
Afghanistan- Young girls want to show their faces.
Iraq- Young children just want to find their parents.
    ____

I don't know about you....but this made me think A LOT!

Don't you think we're taking advantage of the things we have...We're not appreciating what we already have...and yeah. I don't really know where I'm going with this.

    I just wanted to share.

Yeah, that really does make you think. Wow. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. Really. It makes me feel selfish and that I should be doing so much mroe with my life.

Blah blah blah, what about Australia, New Zealand, China, France andthe United Kingdom?

Be happy with what you've got and remember that if you want more you can work for it like everyone else.

It is sad, but predictable. I do hope you are not suggesting that American children are any less moral or aware than those in Uganda?

I bet those same kids from Ethiopia would want a TV if they had everything else taken care of, and of course if they had a Tv to make them want a bigger one.

The world is not a perfect place so different peoples from different parts of the world will wish for different things.

I say this title and the first thing that jumped to mind was "electric hair curlers." The second thing was "a taste of true love."

So what has anyone here done about it? Have you sold your ps2 and donated the proceeds to charity, perhaps? Saved your allowance and bought a homeless person a bath/shower shave and bed for night, maybe?

    Didn't think so.
