When you compare two generations you can't just take one varible between the two timezones.
Firstly diets have changed, back then we didn't consume half the sugar(there goes you attention span).
People had to use there imaginations more then, now your playstations and xboxes create the world, the rules and determine your results.
Kids are under more pressure but have more opportunities

On the flip side
Kids also grow up with more choices earlier and have far more distractions than children years ago.
The internet also provdes an almost exhaustless resource tool and is packaged for those that need to learn by diagrams and images, like wise any idiot can contribute to the net.

There are so many more factors that have changed. Hopefully that gives another opinion
