Give me your opinion on dreams.

    Do they have meaning?

Anything you wish to say about dreams. All opinions are greatly appreciated.

I think all dreams definately have a meaning. If not a real 'meaning' then at least it may symbolize something. Although sometimes it is hard to tell. Some dreams are just nonsense; just that's happened the day before in a twisted way, or something that you don't recognize at all. But I think that all dreams have something to tell, even if it's something like "you are dreaming this because you only brushed your teeth once today" or "your friend is really hurting right now". You never really know.
I guess you could also dream about your future. I guess a sort of "deja-vu" or something could happen in a dream that symbolizes something that may happen in like, 50 years even. I guess you never really know, though.
That's my opinion for now. I'll probubly think of something else and post it later :)

    In my opinion:
Dreams are the subconcious speaking to you. It tells you of hidden desires or things that you cannot explain yourself (but the dream in a sense tells you... does that make sense?). Dreams are NOT some other force speaking to you. They are nerves in the brain (For the brain is always awake) gonig over the days' problems and trying to figure them out.
Dreams are fit for 'prophecy', but I strictly believe few people recieve this kind of 'dream'.

A Little About The Logic (Just for background) -
Dreams let us know what should not be known some of the time. Things we deny every day of our lives, things that could be...dangerous.
It is clinically proven that people with mental disorders (Such as Skitzophernia {Spelling}) do not dream half as much as those who are 'normal'. It is also proven that as you get older you tend to forget more dreams.
You dream about 5 to 10 times a night, but rarely remember but a few.

Dreams may tell us things we never knew about ourself. Things hidden and unknown. The fascination with the human mind has been around for ages, and I feel it all starts at dreams..

I hope that is what you were looking for...

in point of view dreams have meanings sometimes and not always. they may tell you something they may not. and sometimes when you think about something too often you will dream of it

I think dreams are just a combination of things you have seen or thought of throughout the day. I don't believe they have any hidden meanings, psychic predictions, or anything like that.

It's hard to say why you see some of the strange things that happen in dreams, but I think it's just your subconscious portraying all the things that have crossed through your mind before you were sleeping.

i think they are a build up of images that have been stored away because you forgot about them or dont really want to remember and your mind is trying to make sence of it all by playing them like a video in your head (dreams) but because there are so many images and the brain cant place them in the correct order they come out distorted and mixed up, so you get one really wiered dream. so if you have a dream that you really dont understand it is because your brain is still trying to figuer out how to play them in the right order. - the order of your life.

-and yeah, if you think about something all day (something that could be worrying you) and right before you sleep your still thinking about it then your mind will find all images assosiated with the worry thought and play it, because its just one thing your searching for the brain will find it easier to place the images correctly and play them.

once i lost my phone charger, and couldnt find it for 3 day's..on the forth day i thought about it constantly and was looking for it in my spare time, that night when i went to sleep i dreamnt of were it was, and when i awoke (in the middle of the night) i went to the place were i dreamed and it was there!

i love it when that happens-makes me feel like i connected into something.

Dreams can't tell the future, they symbolise your thoughts and desires. Because of the choices we make the future is ever changing and can not be foretold (though many a time I wish it could be). But then again there's always Deja Vu which I would assume everyone has experienced and that just can't be explained...

well if your talking about dreams when you sleep, then they're good (but not nightmares)
when you remember them, its fun to talk with friends or family about how crazy they were

if your talking about dreaming like day-dreaming, sometimes its good, but you have to be careful with it
you could end up being depressed because nothing you want to happen ever happens, and too much keeps you from enjoying the present
You get so caught up in dreaming that you forget that you are alive.

anyway, thats what I think :)

Dreams. Hmm. Yes, every dream has a meaning, I agree.

I have a lot to say about them; yet I cannot get myself to type anything just now. Lackofbotheration.com.

    OK. I'm bothered now.

Well, from what I have read concerning dreams and Freud’s theory; I believe that every dream we have has significance, and it may or may not be relative to our past, present or future lives...

From the age of six, I dreamt of white doors. Odd, I know. I'd either be cycling, laughing or with a loved one in my old home, miles from here; but at the end of each dream, I'd see a white door- and that’s when I'd know it was time to wake up. I never wanted to, it always felt like I had to let go of something. And I did. I had to break away from my childhood, I had to let go of my loved ones. It's strange I can remember so many of my dreams so clearly; as though they're happening in front of me right here, right now. But I seriously think there is someone out there who knows what I'm talking about; perhaps they've seen the doors too.

Dreams are a marvellous thing. They take you somewhere so far from home, yet you're closer to everything you once loved then you'd ever know.

If you want my advice, write about your dreams like I do, and then one day look back at them. Maybe everything you really dreamed has come true?

    -Elysium.

P.S: And for all those dreams you think may be "nonsense", as Lovely Bones stated, think on them. Why did you only see a black void before you? Why no colour, no figure of light or yourself?
Were you distraught and thinking too much of a lost one, perhaps fearful of what life has yet to bring you?

    I don't know. You tell me. :]

I don't think dreams are other beings trying to tell us something; i think it's myself trying to tell me something. Though by the state of some of my dreams I think my subconscious is crazy.

I dream the most ridiculous dreams. I have ones that I wake up and burst out laughing, I have dreams that scare the hell out of me, that are really disturbing and ones where, in my sleep, i am shouting to weake up.

Dreams are thoughts you never gave a chance, expressing....problems you never admitted, living, fears hopes and...dreams, existing.

    Now isn't that nice?

Or they are just mental garbage we don't process whilst awake.

I tend to be scared of some dreams I have. Cause they all happen. I dunno why but they always do. I still remember 13-14 years ago I had a dream that a great friend was going to walk in and become the only friend that understands me. And it's true. About a month after my dream Betty came into the picture and she is my BEST friend in the ENTIRE world. I would do anything for her.

I believe in them because they keep me going everyday and they keep me filled with things to write about on here.

Most dreams symbolize, or foreshadow the future in my opinion, from several life experiences. Others are just...nonsense. I don't think we know which is which yet.

i think that dreams do mean something.
i think that it's you're conscience, trying to tell you something. but like if u had a dream where you shot someone, that's not saying you are going to shoot someone... i think that dreams have deeper meanings, and we just need to know what to look for. (swim dowm to find the deeper meaning... lmao!!!!)
