Advice?

hey everyone!
I'm thinking about trying to submit a coupke of my poems into a contest, maybe try and get some scholarship money, to be honest i don't get the best grades in school and i never really got into sports enough to get one that way, poetry is a passion of mine and i've always loved to share it and read other peoples work, think you could help me out?
