i think its totally cool, in my case i download songs i want to know about a band and if i like it ill either buy their cd or just burn it, either way if i like their music ill see them live in concert. |

In the short run it's good, everyone can listen to the music they want for free, bands get more publicity, and it gives opportunity for people to listen to music from all around the world. 50 years ago (not talking from experience by the way :p) there would be an extremely limited range of music about, now it's almost limitless. However in the long run, there will be a massive decline in 'good' bands. The money people would have spent on Cd's etc will be gone, they won't work for nothing. So there will be less and less music that people will want to download, even for free. |

who are you refering to? the musicians or the sites that allow illegal music downloads? |

the sites aren't run by the artists or the police or anyone, so they do want you to use them, but it's still not legal. |

i think downloading is wrong because when its a band you dont learn anything about the band but if you buy a cd you get info about whose playing what |
