READ FIRST:: This is an one page essay I had to write for my English Comp class. This is my opinon and thats what we had to write about.

    High School Dropouts

Dropping out of high school once seemed 'cool' and almost started as a trend. Personally I don't see why dropping out is cool. All it is doing is showing themselves as a coward and someone who doesn't want a job, but a person who's waiting for it all to come to them. They show that they can't take them responsiblilty to be a better person than whaat they are now. Jobs are now wanting a High School Diploma, and those who don't take it have a lesser paying job them those who go through all four-years of high school. Poverty, another name for less income, is the thing most dropouts will live in. Some jobs don't accept dropouts because they think that they don't have enough education to get them to do the job. Either they are depressed or have nothing in their life to really do that drives them to alcholism and/or drug abuse. And that usually leads to being incarcerated (going to jail). Jail is the most likely place that dropouts will end up in if they're not careful with the decisions that they make on a daily basis. While someother dropouts seem to get all caught up in the parly life they once never had while in school. Some of them will become pregnant by this choice or just mainly because they left high school because their 'lover' wasn't in school anymore.

In my opinion dropping out of high school changes your whole life. Like you have the restrictions on some things you really wanted, example; a job you really wanted accepts those who have a diploma. And you're stuck on the outside wishing you would have stayed in school. From what I heard staying in school gets you a lot further then what dropping out of school does. The outlook on things get toughter to look out on and gets harder to view it. Dropping out does nothing but drag you even further behind then everyone else. Almost like climbing stairs and you get to out of breath before even reaching the top step. Everyone seems to like the fact that if they don't have to do homework or study in school anymore that they'll be better off. But it's not like that, droputs have to work a lot harder to remember those things and try to understand the world in a much different way then in school.

Some make the mistake of dropping out and try to get themselves back into highg school again. It's a lot harder to start all over again then start where you should be already. But we all can't complain because every dropout has his/her own story and reason why they dropped out. Some do make a bettter life out of their dropout. It just depends on how they look at it. But they all have a different story so this is a subject where we can't judge harshly.

I agree with about the last five lines. I think that the rest would be true in some cases, but certainly not all, and maybe not even most. I know several people who have dropped out, and been better off because of it.

Thanks Jaime (sorry if i spelled ur name wrong). Yeah our English teacher was like because you all are oposing your opinons on how I should run my class then you should be able to do this essay easlily. Only me and one other person did it out of all 23 kids. TWO OUT OF TWENTY THREE! THAT IS SO NOT GOOD. But atleast I got my 50 points.
