Hey allen, i just read Friends~ last poem but i have a headache so i didn't really soak it all in. What happened? Why are they leaving?

From my understanding on reading the poem I think one of them had a crush on the other and decided to reveal his feeling... the result of it didn't turn out too good...

"I believed them when they said,
Your true feelings you should never conceal.
I took a shot; poured my heart out,
Only to be inflicted by wounds that would never heal.
...
...
With every breath that I let out,
I chanted your mellow name.
I knew this love would be never returned,
But still I hoped, one day you’d feel the same.
But may be I was too ugly to entertain hopes,
And these hopes, I also tried to crush.
But the more I tried to forget those moments,
The more in my heart, this love seemed to be lush.
If being away from me would make you happy,
Never to show you my face again, I will do all that I can,
I hope someday soon, you’d find your perfect love,"

But of cause, these are just my personal view on the poem... it maybe correct or it may not... but those are the ideas I got when I was reading it... it was really sad because I fear the same for my own fate....
