What have you learnt from this site?

I learnt that a lot of people have no lives.

Actually to be honest three years ago when I was 13 I spent a lot of time on this site and I honestly attribute my status in life today to the intense debating with people like Kaitlin Kristina and JPM. I never thought I would have learnt so much from an online community.

Nower days though, with the site plagued by corrupted mods and little potential to bludgeon knowledge into people, this site is a wasteland and I have learnt nothing from it in years since they all left the forums.

I totally agree with Nuovo. This site used to be a vibrant place for debate. Now it's a teen pit of idiocy. I used to love coming here and reading some of the debates, and catching up on some knowledge. But, that has all gone.

I'm sure once this site was what you all claim it to have been, but complaining does nothing. It is unproductive, completely pointless, and somewhat insulting. You want to debate? Debate. No more whining.

It is useless debating against almost everyone on here because they will not address your points, and when your point overrides theirs they will not admit it.

If you pour water in a glass for your mate, and he refuses to believe there is water in it, what's the point of pouring water in it in the first place?

Debate is fruitless here. I won the best speaker's award in our regional debating competition that our team won. I will join the debating society at Hills Road. They speak some mean shizzle.

I learned that if we disagree (In a polite way) we will not have politeness returned to us by the poster or their supports.

Everything is a popularity contest--talent hardly wins

Nothing really. Except that unless you know some people, they won't bother reading your poems or whatever. Kinda sad in my opinion.

This site has taught me a lot.
Well the people on this site.

They have taught me too much to explain.

This site has changed me and for the better.

I'm so thankful I found this site. For the people on here.

I've learned you're judge by the thread you post. I've learned NO ONE gives a crap about you.
I've learned that you can't live a life and share it without someone saying something bad or insulting about it.
I've learned that you can be the greatest person in the world, but someone on this particuallar site has something horribly wrong to say about you.
And I've learned that everyone is immature in somewhat way. You can call someone immature, and be immature yourself.

i've learned that sometimes you can just relax and talk to ppl, and help them out, it's such a nice feeling.

I kind of feel intimidated on here sometimes.... You people seem so smart. and no offense, but some of you are seems uptight. *sigh* :D

I've never heard of helping on this website just insulting. Sorry, but not being rude, but I do disagree. I've never been helped, only judge, insulted, and hurt. People have no consideration for other's feelings.

I `ve learned a lot from this site, there are people who will reach out to a stranger just to say"if you ever need to talk,I`m here." a lot of times the nice things that are done are done behind the scenes, I`ve learned that people are basically looking for the same thing love, understanding, acceptance. I ignore the negative crap, the childish rantings about the mods and all the stuff wrong with the site,I come here to enjoy interaction with people through poetry and talk, and I continue to learn here.

I've learned a lot about poetry and expressing myself with words.

I've also learned that many people have it way worse than I do, and I need to start appreciating that fact.

I've gotta admit, there's been times when this is where I turned to in order to stay sane.

    What did I learn...

Why this place is nothing more than a microchosm or a miniature society that reflects the wider (reality) society...

Anything else you care to ask?

    Haha, yes I have learned:
-that many people have no lives like me! ]
-and that a lot of people go through the same things as me,
    and
-I've learned more techniques to writing poetry which will help in my English class when we have to write poems!

I've learned that I forgot what it was like to be a young person who writes poetryto get their feelings out, and not necessarily to share an insight.
