I Can't Promise

I can't promise I'll always be By your side to give you a hug
But I will be on the other side of the phone.
I can't promise everything will be alright
because sometimes I know it won't.
But I will do my best to help you.

I can't promise I'll stop your tears
but i'll cry with you!
You cry silent tears
but they fall so loud.
But some day I'll be able to catch them.

I can't promise I'll catch you when you fall
But hey I always wanted to fly.
And I'll hold your hand all the way down!

I can't promise you I can get you outta you hole
To tell the truth I'm right there with you
But I can help ease your pain

I can't promise I can make you better
When you feel like you're not strong enough to go on
But I can be strong for you

I can't promise to give you a reason to live
when you can't take it anymore.
But I hope you would choose to live and stay here with me. No matter what trails we have to go throw at least we'll have each other.

And I can't promise
That things will be ok soon
But I can promise that I"ll love you

You stand beside me
Crying in the rain

If I feel down

This is just the beginning

Nobody Cries

I see him,
Back straight,
Eyes wide open,
Looking at
The sky

In all its glory
He opens the window
Staring out
Hoping for better
Tomorrows

I want to
Hug him, hold him
Tight, so that
He won't melt away
From my reach

He stares into space
The air his window
The seat my arms
The floor, sadness
The walls, a trap

My arms surround him,
Sinking in, invisibly,
I hold him, in my head
I hug him, I talk to him,
Whisper in his ear

Like he did to me,
Although he didn't know,
What I felt, how I felt
Around the first few
Days we met

He changed me
Just a little
At first, I didn't open
Up, but in the end
We grew closer

His smile, his laugh
Every secret, pout,
I cherish, deep down
His jokes, his sweetness
Penetrate ice

The days we met
Grew; here he is
I see him, I know him
My friend; I can see
What he's like

I want to tell him
It's okay, please smile
Let's play
A game, one more
Get rid of the pain

Boys don't cry
That's what's sad
He never talks
About mom or dad
Wishing away

We joke, laugh,
Forget everything;
No more sadness
When I see him, I know
He'll cheer me up

The days are rough
I hate the hours
But it turns around
When we reach class
And act out

Of ourselves, we
Can talk for hours;
Every minute, a life
No more sadness
Just joy

We don't see the pain,
The hidden tears,
We laugh it all away
This is why, for an hour a day
Nobody cries

Best Friends

I got your back

To see you hurt
To see you cry
Makes me weep
And wanna die
And if you agree

It wouldn't matter

When Laughing Makes You Cry

When you thought you couldn't take it,
your whole day was going bad.
Everything was getting worse,
everybody got you mad.

You talk to your best friends,
only in them you can confide.
They bring a smile to your face
and they don't even have to try.

They make you giggle and laugh
you don't have to fake a smile.
It makes you feel so much better,
even if its only for a while.

You're having such a good time
there's not a thing that you would change.
Only they can make you happy,
and for nothing in exchange.

You laugh until your stomach hurts
'til its too hard for you to breathe.
But you enjoy the pain you feel
and in a way you feel relieved.

You laugh until your tears pour out
and your face is red and sore.
But its the best pain that you've felt,
this really is worth crying for.

So if a tear rolls down your cheek,
don't ever let it dry.
Times like these are worth the tears,
when laughing makes you cry.

when you need help soaring through the sky.
My shoulder will always be here,
when you're down and need to cry.

when skies over you are grey.

at the end of a broken day.

When no one else is around,
I'll be the crowd who cares about you.
I'll help you make decisions,
when you don't know what to do.

I'll help you back onto your feet,
if you happen to stumble and fall.
My hand is here to hold if you get scared,
all you need to do is call.

when things are going great for you.

All these things I'll do and be for you,
are all part of being a friend.

Secrets

So many things you're afraid to show.
Hiding so much from the crazy world out there.

You and I both know that it's not your fault.
Smile and laugh as the world passes you by.
To many you're just some teenage guy.

No one knows how deep your mind has gone.
How far in the recesses you've been forced to withdrawn.
But you let me in, and that's fine with me.
Sharing secrets no one else will see.

My best friend, my half, through all of my days;
Helping each other, giving advice in many ways.

Daisy Chains

As little girls we used to sit
Among the daisies in the glen
And chain the flowers all together
Our friendship then, would never end

As we reached our days as teens
With first love, broken hearts we'd share
When you saw one of us
The other one was always there.

We graduated from high school
Together in our college days
It wasn't until we each got married
That we went our separate ways.

Many miles were there between us
Each facing trials of our own
But through the years we lent hope
To each other on the phone.

And travel through these many years
We'd chance to meet from time to time
And see each other through all the pain
That clutched our hearts and tore our minds.

Our children grown and here we are
Two souls that swore to never part
But though the distance in between
Has never seemed to stay our hearts

We've lived our lives through daisy chains
For many years have bound us fair
With comfort to each one of us
When life has been to hard to bare.

I know I have but to call your name
And somehow you will see
The friendship in those daisy chains
Bind us together, you and me..

Friends Forever

Through good and bad
Both happy and sad
Ive counted on you
To count on me too

So many regrets
I could say that I get
But they would not be true
Cause Ive confided in you

Through bitter fights
And endless nights
Of giggling under the covers

Not Your Traditional Friendship

My best friend cannot talk to me,
but she's always there when I cry,
she helps me stand up off the floor,
and on her I can always rely.

She always wipes my tears away,
and never leaves me side,
she always listens to what I have to say,
and from her I can never hide.

She can always sense when I need her,
and to my rescue she does come,
showing me that she loves me,
cheering me up when I'm feeling glum.

She can always see through my disguises,
when no one else has a clue,
and she's never ashamed of me,
not matter what I do.

She loves me unconditionally,
and would protect me with her life,
and I know she wouldn't even think twice,
on jumping between me and a knife.

She is my best friend in the world,
however human she is not,
four legs and a tail,
is what my best friend's got.

Some would call her a bi*ch,
but I just call her my friend,
because I know she will stay with me,
until the very end.

One upon a time
My sky was dark
Shrouded in shadow
Empty and stark

There was no light
No room for dreams
It's just depression
As the common theme

But then came a spark
A small ray of hope
It was a lifeline
A magical rope

Started a new day

It painted a portrait
With brilliant dye

As Time Lets Us Be

As the sun and stars start to slip away
And cloudy skies make up your day
And as the wind blows off your trust
I'll be there when everything's unjust

No matter however lost you feel
And when you know the pain is real

When everything feels out of line

I will try to weaken all your fears
And kiss away unwanted tears
For you I owe my heart and soul

Nothing will keep me from your reach

Do not fear the fake and guile laughs

Of course one day our lives won't meet
For both would be gone on our feet
