thank you sluvious, of course, I, so poorly at writing out history, did not have a valid enough view of malcolm x and david will only listen to someone after he realized he has been cornered. I think a historian looks at all aspects, all stories, all textbooks, all references, and THEN decides what the true story is. Also, I believe, the best historian writes indifferently about his subject, as difficult as that may be. That is the problem with history books, they are way too biased. Read the book "Lies My Teacher Told Me" it's an excellent example.

all i have to say before i throw in the towel in this conversation is that i don't appreciate being ganged up on.

secondly: malcolm x had so many bad things happen to him but instead of rising above that he decided to get even.

i can't persaude you to see things my way and i know you won't. "there is a flame at my heart for my country and her friends which i cannot easily smother or consume"

you wound my spirit and you slander my knowledge.....but i don't hate you. in fact i'm sure outside this board we might be friends.

i'm not always so on fire protecting what's right and wrong in history. i just get scared.

i have more respect for an american who fights for his country abroad with protestors slandering him at home, than i do for maybe one of you writing some article that wins you the nobel prize.

man i wanted an easier way to calm down the heated argument.

i will end my envolvement in this thread talking about my historical role model. i would not blame you after this for boasting your victory because you earned it.

    John adams 1735-1826

as a lwayer defended the british soldiers during the boston massacre trials when no one else would he claimed it was the right thing

known as the "atlas of independence" he debated on the floors of the second continental congress even though he was shunned. he eventually won.

thomas jefferson did say of him later "he moved us from our seats"

    u.s. minister to france

    first u.s. minister to netherlands

    created first foreign embassy

first u.s. minister to great britain

    first vice president

    second president

slandered by his best friend jefferson in election of 1800.

father of the sixth president. grandfather of us. minister to great britain. great grandfather to legendary writer henry adams.

i cannot persuade you to see my view, and i know you won't. i will take my leave so that you can celebrate.

    adieu

The person I admire most is still alive. I love the Dalai Lama, he is truly a wise man. I had the honour of meeting him when he was in Canada.

The answer is that the dream was lost.

countries rise and fall and ours is no different. what keeps a person, an objective, and a country on it's path is to stay close to the dream that made it and the guidelines set in it's creation.

I don't really look up to him but am impressed by Sun Tzu (sp?). He was a Japanese military genius from (don't quote me on this) sometime before the shogunate wars i think.
