Know any good authors in that genre?

Blah, do not recommend Nora Roberts. Her books sucks in my opinion.

Here's my list of great authors:
    -Patricia Grasso*
    -Amanda Scott*
    -Johanna Lindsey*
    -Cheryl Bolen*
    -Christina Dodd
    -Jane Feather
    -Amanda Quick

*The best of the best, my personal favorites.

    Thanks a bunch!

    Yeah you should...

I haven't heard of any of these authors except Jane Austen, and Nora Roberts. There's Linda Howard, and Jennifer Donnely.

So far, I've picked up two of Nora Robert's books and have yet to finish either of them.

Her plots are great, but it's just the way she develops it.

Plus, her characters are too perfect, even though it is apparent she tries to add internal flaws to them.

I cannot judge how she writes modern day romances, because I do not read them, but her historical romances leaves a bad taste in my mouth...or rather my mind.

But yes, my respect to her fans. Example: you.

I read "The Paid Companion" way back when, it's great.

Jane Austen was mentioned a couple of times in one of Patricia Grasso's books, so I will most definitely check her out.

I think I read some of Linda Howard's books, but I am not sure.

As for new books on the shelf, I don't recommend reading "Bedding the Heiress" by Cathy Maxwell.

I dont read romances of any kind, historical or modern. I dont mind books that do have romance in them, but I dislike full out romance novels. Are any of these authors authors of novels that arent romance-oriented?

R.L. Stine is my favorite. I love his goosebump books. and whoever wrote Sangspell.

All of the authors that I have listed so far are historical romance writers save Nora Roberts, who only -just- started writing the historical ones.

R.L. Stine was one of my favorite authors before I discovered that I like reading romance more and particularly the historical romances.

His Fear Street series are great. A lot scarier than the Goosebumps series. Have you read any of them?
