By federal law, the minimum age for enlistment in the United States Military is 17 (with parental consent) and the maximum age is 42, it used to be 35, but congress changed it in the year 2006.

However, I noticed you live in the UK, therefore the minimum voluntary recruitment age for the armed forces is 16. Which means he's been involved with the Navy for 1 year if I am not mistaken.

Anyways, about what to get him for his birthday...nobody knows him better than you on this site, you are his g/f. You know his personality, his likes, etc. Just give him something that comes from your heart, for if it comes from your heart and your true emotions for him, it will make the gift that much more special to him.

    Peace, Joe

    how completely irrelevant.

anyway, do you know what he likes? and has he been eyeing anything in particular? anything homemade from YOU i'm sure he'd like, or just a cd or a meal out or a trip for the day would be nice.

How bout a toy battle ship? But to get serious get him something he needs out there, or something to keep him busy while he's out at sea like a little game.
