National Day of Prayer

Ok, yesterday was national day of prayer. (For all you who don't belive in God, I kinda don't want to hear your opinion for it may offend what you may say. Expecially for what happend yesterday) So at the Civic Center (were plays, concerts ect happen)
There was a gathering called Just For Jesus. It was a church program organized by the prodestant religon. Well, I was with my my boyfriend, and my friends. We were having such a great time. The performances were wonderful and the songs were amazing. Me and my boyfriend were getting hungry so we left to go eat. Well, on our way out, a fight was trying to take place. A FIGHT! At a church program(gets worse) So we just choose to just leave. Well I got home with my boyfriend and my friend calls me. I hear sirens in the background and asked whats going on. She said something at Wendey's she'll call me back and let me know.

She calls me back. She was almost in tears. Some freshman at MY school have shot someone at wendey's and ran out and shot the crowd at the civic center! And there were at least 8 fights. And a bomb threat at a school.

This is such a terrible thing someone can do. But luckly no one was killed. We thank God so much for being with us at that time. I just can't imagine what would happen if one of my friends got shot becuas eof some stupid heartless person. Yesterday was suppose to be about praising Jesus and thanking him for his dying on the cross that sacrificed his life for ours. And someone wanted to kill innocent that thanked another. People are stupid. Please think before you do something. If youd on't belive in God or Jesus, please at least have respect for people who do. And have respect for our prayers and our organizations. I can't go any were anymore. There is shootings ALL the time litterally every even at the civic center.
Thank God He was with every single one of us.

I think everyone has forgot what praying is these days
sorry. But I do all the time, maybe the rest world will catch up sooner or later. Just glad Mr Reagan named that day as national prayer day, seems like the rest of the world just forgot or was just to busy making that all mighty dollar to care. But thanks for reminding us,glad someone has there eyes open and is watching out for the rest of us. Thanks your friend Tracy

I'm a baptist, and i agree. i'm not particularly fond of islam, or hinduism, or any of that worships your body stuff, but i don't believe in a vendetta against those religions. i wish everyone thought like that.

Just the heartache that our town can't do anything anymore. This year for mardi gras, the same place, there was 5 shootings, my school, a lock down with one freshman on campus with a gun, shootings, killings, fights at the mall. National Day of Prayer...shooting. I'm scared to go to Conrtaband. Wich I won't because I can't imagine how that will be. Not to mention a shooting happend during christmas. Just this little town i once lived in is now a place I live in fear everyday...It's horrible.

I'm southern baptist, But I for one think that God should be put back on peoples minds ,who knows maybe this world wouldn't be as bad as it is today. Problem now is everyone is turning away from what is right and you not allow to speak the word God anywhere but church. I would like to know what ever happen to that thing call freedom of speech, isn't a freedom to speak of God when you want too, well thats me maybe I'm wrong, but to be honest with you I think not. thanks your friend Tracy

I guess when they take in God we trust away,we'll have to bring the Lord back into the big picture. Sometimes it really makes me sick, to know that we put people that we think we can trust in office. Then have them turn their backs and let us get stubbed and take away our freedom.
Sad to think, this use to be the land of the free and opportunity. Now when you say something about that ,the only right you have is to remain silent and if you give up that right you need a lawyer to be present. Makes you wonder what happen to the good old U S A.

Wow. To go through a situation like this and still thank God is amazing. You have a wonderful faith; God bless you. Not many people would be able to go through a situation like that and still come out praising God. I agree with what the original poster and Tracy have been saying. I'm Pentecostal, others are Baptists or Catholics but in the end it doesn't really matter what denomination you are. What matters is that you're living for Christ.

"Jesus rocks my socks....I pray alot...it keeps me sane talking to him"

Thanks everyone. I just hate being here. It's getting bad. I can't go to school anymore without being scared. A couple of weeks ago. We had a lock down. A kid was being arrested for theft of a gun from an elderly lady. He had a gun at the school. He ran around the school and we had a lock down. So yeah, it scares me. Thanks everyone :D
