Your very right Keven ^_^ It does take more then just reading a book and mumbling some words, you need to have a natural calling to it ^_^ Now my sister and I were born with "the gift" and we have to be really careful because things just happen around us =p Like she made her boyfriend sick *not meaning to though* because she thought it and wanted it to happen because he had hurt her and he got sick the next day without warning =p We try really hard not to let things like that happen though because of the rule "Harm none"

Wiccans cannnot make people ill just by thinking bad thoughts about them, if that were true, and anyone had such power, they would be famous or at least infamous.

It's coicedence backing up what you'd like to think that makes people believe they can use magick.

I once watched a very funny program about a man who travelled America speaking to people who claimed to have been employed by the government to teach mind killing techniques. They tried to show on camera what they could do on a hamster...but it just sat there eating.

The guys said, when he couldn't kill it.

Anyway, my mom and I almost had a huge arguement of "what do I beleive will happen to me when I die?" and I told the obvious Wiccan outlook on death, Summerlands, and if needed reincarntion. And she flippep "Oh my god, I thought you would be smarter than that you should know that Christianty is the only way!"

Oh yeah and "Most Hauted" is a scam. You can tell that its all made up!

After hearing this I told her "Their is more than one way to Deitey(Spirt)It's not just this way or that way. Religion differse for each persons beliefs, for their comfort!" and of course her replie " i thought you'd be smarter than that..." I asked what she ment by that and she couldn't explain to me what she was trying to get acrouse...So I don't know.

*rolls eyes* I'm sorry that your mom feels that way =P I can't honestly say that most of my friends know my beliefs for just that reason, heck my own dad freaks out whenever he thinks I'm studying something un-normal =p But whatever, I just don't bring it up *of course it helps that him and I don't talk much anyway* =p

Keven, I'm sorry but I can't give you the proof that your looking for, but then I don't need to because it's my belief and I don't expect anyone else to agree with me. It's called faith that there are things that I can't prove and for me that makes each day more fun because there are still things that can't be explained =) I study the unexplainable *ghosts, demons, possession and the sort* because I've seen it and do see it =p

I don't really cast spells that much it's more just focusing your energy into what you want *as long as it's not to harm anyone* but it's hard to explain =p lols I guess thats why I don't most of the time lols

But yes your right, I tend to believe that every religion has at least some grain of truth at the heart of it and we just need to find it =) But then whats right for me probably isn't right for the next person ^_^

It's ok Angel, I knew I was being rather daft asking for such proof, because I know that no one can give me it, because there is no proof to give.

Believe as you will, rock and roll I say, Wicca is one of the better religions in terms of it's treatment of different groups, eg, gay people, women etc.

Just have a think about the facts and actual realities of the things you put forward about your faith, seemingly without any research.

I think that the three fold law and the Wiccan Reede meens applies to everything that anyone does, not just your work in Magik.

I also dont think that you should be limited by one religion if you feel like "trading spaces" and switching and mixing beleifes. I don't see whats so wrong with that. But there is a name for it, it's called Eclectic [sp?]. and many people that choose the Wiccan path choose to pick and pull there own beleifs from one beleif system to the other.

Well I think that there are alot of people that beleive that it only goes for your work in Magik and that you can only hurt so much of a person before it comes back on you... So I don't know. Some people also take it to far, like "if I kill this annoying fly will that effect the Three Fold Law?" No, Its not nice to kill the fly but the thing was a pest and really think about it what is the point in a fly? So people just don't need to take it to extreemes but still know what will happen if you don't do the right thing.

So from my understanding, you guys picked Wicca because you can pick and choose who to believe in..?

And that it's rituals would be catered to you alone, rather than in a congregation...?

You know what I actually love Pagans and Wiccians because if you told them that you're psychic, they'll believe you a 100 percent..

I like the Pagan and Wiccan philosophy, but I have to say that I have serious doubts about anything to do with the Magik side of it, because, strangely enough, there is absolutely no proof for it, despite countless hours of research by parapsychologists.

Not a single bit of evidence that magik can effect reality in the ways Wiccans claim.

And before you say that science can't prove something that is based on faith, well, that is the biggest cop out I've ever heard, and I hear it alot from people of faith, any faith that is. Science is not the enemy of faith, it's the one thing that could make any religious or spiritual idea solid and completely believable for a whole world. Thea reason people say that science cannot be used as a measure of any religon is because, put simply, science only validates what is true and testable, what is real and proovable...and in the case of Wicca, all the crazy claims of magik and ghosts and spells has always been disproved by scientific research, which is a good thing.

Anyway, I can't say anything about the Wicca's because I'm not one, I follow pagan witch craft more, but I apply the three fold law to hurting people in any way since I know what I've done and whats come back on me for it =p What can I say other then I'm one of those sad people that has to learn the hard way lols But I just can't do the whole "smack a fly and it comes back on you" lols I don't judge anyone that feels it's right that way though =) The thing I have a hard time remembering is that the three fold law applies to harming yourself in anyway also, whither it's physically, emotionally or any other way of self abuse =p

Kevin, when you say that you need evidence, even a little bit, to prove that magick in paganism is true, I find it ridiculous. What proof do you have taht even God exists? There can be absolutely no proof to someone who doesnt believe, you need to believe first, and then the proof would definitely be evident to one....I think faith is a requisite to understanding religions that we dont...

Dhavel, well that is the old classic arguement isn't it, you must believe before you can see the proof.

If that is true, then something must become apparent once you believe, and there are many faith based scientists of all religons, wiccan too I imagine who cannot offer proof, even though they supposedly, can see the proof.

Bottom line, what you are saying, that I need to believe in magick before I can see it, sounds like a childs fairy tale, which doesn't lend the idea any credibility.

I need reasons over and above the idea and mystery of faith, to beleive in something. I'm not talking about a full scientific report, just some good thinking and reasoned argument. I mean, there are many quantum theories that cannot be proven, but the reasoning behind them is sound and so I'm prepared to believe in the possibility of their existence...I cannot say the same for God or magick.

WE totaly lost the subject heer. the idea wasn't to argue about our religious beliefs or to say how stuiped Wicca or witchcraft is. I was just tring to find more people that are into it so I might learn from them.

I also thought that it would be cool for us to have a place for us to talk about Wicca.

Yes their are alot of Christian that also fallow witchcraft and/or Wicca and mix them together, however witchcraft is considered damnable by the Bible. That also includes people who claim to see the future, any tipe of devanations, and spell casting will all get you a free ticket to hell acurding to the bible. But yet some of them will mix it with Christian beliefs and others will dabble.
