    Now let me ask you:

If a man racially abuses another man of the same colour is it self hatred or raically hated..

An example would be if a East African called a South African the n word...Is it self hatred or racial hatred?

Also take into effect all the other races as well when speaking about this.

I would say its racial hatred. My reasons being:

    1. Self hatred is made up of many other underlying factors other than race. If one looks at themselves they dont see themselves as "black" or "white" etc... as they know themselves as a whole.

    2. Being racist is basing their comments and thoughts upon that person's race/colour alone or allowing that person's race to manipulate their thoughts towards that person or the way he/she has acted or what they've said etc.

Its a pre-judice (to PRE judge)... how can you pre-judge yourself based on the fact that you've known yourself all your life (ok ok... so dont come back at me saying that some people never know themselves - but the fact is we can judge ourselves more accurately than most other people.)

U no honestly i think its self hatred because u are of the same ethnic bacround as that person so how can it be different?

Well obviously there is a difference--hence the hostility. Noir, I think the answer to your question is stupidity. Nobody attacks another individual utilizing self-hatred. What would be the point? The answer cannot be racial hatred if both people are of the same race...correct? The difference between the two people is locality. Unless you know a term describing prejudice or animosity based on areas, regions and countries...I think ignorance is the best assumption. Looking at motivation would help, but that's circumstantial.

I still say its racial because even if you're from the same place and with the same cultural background and you hate that, you are basing your hatred on the "race" not on the individual or on the location of the individual. I can understand hatred between North and South etc etc - as its an ongoing bitterness between their cultures - they're not the same. But if someone is from the same culture, the same area, the same everything as you and you hate them based on what they are rather than who they are then its not a matter of hatred of self (even tho that might be a contributing factor)...

But sorry Jane - I dont agree with this statement:

"The answer cannot be racial hatred if both people are of the same race...correct?"

    "The Western Wall

In Jerusalem, a female journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Western Wall to pray, twice a day, everyday, for a long, long time. So she went to the Western Wall to check it out, and there he was! She watched him pray and after 45 minutes, he turned to leave. So she approached him for an interview.

"I'm Rebecca Smith from CNN. Sir, how long have you been coming to the Western Wall and praying?"
"For about 60 years", he said.
"60 years! That's amazing! What do you pray for?"
"I pray for peace between the Christians, Jews and the Muslims. I pray for all the hatred to stop and I pray for all our children to grow up in safety and friendship", he said.
"How do you feel after doing this for 60 years?"
"Like I'm talking to a freakin' wall."

I did not write the words above if anyone knows who did please do give the author credit. Ethnic pride is a human reality. Walls and boundaries are man made, but unity is a worthy divine goal. Love should be color blind, if it is not let us focus on the Spirit and not the flesh.
