Am i in the wrong?

Okay this guy messages me and acts like we've known each other forever and he says he got deleted off the site.
okay, well he states his previous name and it's some long affair to the extent where it's almost impossible to remember.
for example don't you hate it when a person's name is something like this?:
"the last desolate son of a derelict father who wears only one shoe"

so i told the guy he should keep his name short or here's a novel idea: let's use our real name and be a bit more professional about it.

maybe i was a bit rough on the guy but good night man, how am i supposed to remember a name as long as that

Maybe another reason i can't remember him is that he didn't stand out the way most people i know on this site do.

It wasn't William was it? He's name used to be Foolish Child or something like that (bit longer but I forget the full thing)

I don't think that was him, but then that sparks another one. why can't he just stick with a name that was easy to remember.
i mean, i can see someone changing their picture but if people know you as one thing why change it, at least short of being kicked off the site

Lol David, I most certainly agree with you. Whats more annoying about those long names is that fact that many ppl have similar name to it.

i.e.
'Waiting4some1", "Waiting4some1special","waiting4some12hold"
whats up with all the waiting thing? Maybe its that name that scares ppl.

I've been thinking about it - and maybe Im going to just change my name to M... so much easier to remember!! :)

I hardly ever look at people's name anyway - I just see their pic and know who it is.

My bro lives in Australia (my home country) and I live in London - living here with my husband and just traveling and working for a few years - so its a bit hard to be so far apart. But I go home once a year and luckily we got to meet up in Norway as he was there last month. It was awesome. Had a massive party together for old times sakes.

Well... I speak a bit of Afrikaans so I can imgaine how you'd say your name - quite similar.

I know a girl named mykel. it's pronounced my-kell. sometimes we joke around and call her
"my hell"

You cant really type it... its like something you do in your throat with your "k" where it doesn't sound like a "k" - am I right?

I find it irritating too...But rather than say a whole sentence full of names, I just write a nick name for them...
