Need A Guy's Opinion

I have my belly button pierced... i love it! i think it looks so cute.. i never get a huge ring or anything because that looks gawdy.. but with a bikini just a cute little heart or something is cute.. but thats in my opinion.. and my mom took me to get it done on my 16th birthday....

oh and i have tons of friends that have it done, they all love it.. and basically every guy around here loves belly button rings lol

I think piercings are perfectly fine. From a christian point of view thoguh, that'd be considered a "no-no". You know the whole "your body's a temple" thing. but personally I think it's ok to have tattoos and body piercings. I'm going to get my right eye brow pierced and a few tats as soon as I graduate. I know people are gonna look at me a little differently just because the life I live (for God) but i want to show everyone that you can be a Godly person and still look like that.

so to me, it all comes down to how you want to be viewed by others and/or the credibility of those who look at you.

I think the whole "do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy spirit" thing Corinthians is talking about is more to do with poluting your body (sex, drugs, rock n roll) not so much piercings. Well I suppose you could think about it like that - I take it a little less literally and think about it as "your body" being more of your spiritual body is the temple. But its been a long time since I've had to think about that.

My parents and other adult influences have told me when it came to the subject:
"your body's the Lord's temple, keep it holy" or however that goes.
I just never saw it like that or at least I never wanted to.

I think the your body is a temple in Corinthians is more related to using your body in bad ways such as self harm pre maridial sex and things like that. There are seven places in the bible where it says it is okay to get piercings tattoos etc. And seven places where it says it's not.

Ah yes. You know, quite a few religions promote piercings and tattoos. I can't remember which ones, but I'm pretty sure I'm not lying.

Just depends on what you think I suppose. If you are considering one of these then you should consider what you think of it.

Some find them a little repulsive just because until the last few years, no one even considered it and so it seems unnatural to them. Others have done it and find a certain aestetic appeal to them. It's not the worse place to pierce and certainly not as repulsive as one would think...

I think that they are full of sex appeal and they make you want to go down deeper. and really get to know the girl

You could wait until you're 18 if you want to keep peace between you and your parents. Please don't try to pierce your own flesh. Let a 'professional' do it for you. Seriously, it's not worth the risk of infection, prolonged/increased pain...or an overall crappy piercing. And only YOU know if it's worth getting down considering the circumstances.

I got my belly button pierced for my 14th bithday but my mum hated it my dad didn't really mind......all my mates have theirs done........ i think it looks nice so do having your ears done but nowhere else!

I did my own like i said up their early and my first time i had my belly button done pro. and it got infected and i was doing everything right i did everything they told me to do... i had to take it out because my stomach around my belly button got a bubble on it.. so i took it out and let it heal... about 7 months later i want it redone but my mom says she doesn't have the money but i have a ring and everything.. my friends stepdad is a pro peircer so i had him mark my stomach but he wouldn't peirce it and i had jackie (my friend) priece it.. i have it for about a year now.. and no infections.. we cleaned the needle several times and we put ice on my belly button for alittle bit. i have a high pain thing though so i didn't even fell it when i had to gage it from a 18g needle to a 14g
