I looked around the site and picked some screen names that I`ve always liked or that really stood out to me and that I felt would make a good poem title, I narrowed it down to fifteen titles...

Rules are simple, choose a title and write about it.
You may submit an old one with the title if you like,
and you may choose your own screen name if it`s there...you could have a reason for choosing the screen name and you can express that in the poem.
One per person for now, until all 15 are filled...then this round will be closed and ten will move onto the next round...everyone that enters automatically gets five r/r/c .

A Little Girl with Big Dreams.

Looking through a tinted glass made her who she was,
Ignorant of certain laughter,
That was set against her.
The tinted glass got older,
Lies passed through more easily,
Each thought different from reality.

Good things come to an end, but,
Inside this little girl, the tinted glass did show,
Reality as a faded image, and the future,
Logically unaccurate, but visually true.

Within her mind, she envisioned,
In the present, more than a little girl.
The President, an artist, a teacher to so many.
Herself a doctor, curing all disease.

But good things come to an end, even,
In this girl's imagination.
Giving up was hard, such a sudden loss.

Doing that hurt so badly, because in,
Reality, adults set her limits so short,
Even though she wanted to,
Acheive things higher than those limits.
Maybe if she sets those dreams loose once again,
She will break the limits set.

Stainglass heart keeper

Pointless figures in the middle of nothing
painting obscurity elegantly as they walk,
holding on to the prophecies forgotten,
breathing the purple distresses, entwining.

Push me over the edge, stainglass heart keeper,
to play with the silhouettes and the demons,
lurk with them and haunt your thoughts,
in the sapphire night to count your footsteps.

Wave this life with me, stainglass heart keeper,
to taste all shattered dreams and hopes.
Behind the waterfall of lost screams to walk,
in the caves of nightmares, hand in hand.

Inspire me to breathe, stainglass heart keeper,
to feel every drip of ink like my own blood.
Across the sky to set my own crimson tears,
like the rain that randomly reflect our souls.

Bittersweet Decay

A heart is pounding in a chest,
Across the world it sounds,
Echoing throughout the ages,
Of loves sweet ups and downs.

Strangers stop to hear the call,
But do not understand,
Love has yet to crush their soul,
To turn them into sand.

Lost fragments in a bitter world,
Of all that's come and gone,
Brought together, under pressure,
A mirror can be drawn.

Reflections of the murky pond,
We wade through everyday,
Reflections of the bittersweet,
Visions of decay.

The Ecstasy Of Suicide

Sitting silently; hidden by the downfall of drops,
Rapidly soaking through thick layers of protection,
Washing away the ruby red of secret pain from her body,
Shallow pools of water reveal her blood stained reflection.

Insecurities rapidly roll away from her body; set free by water.
Leaving behind lines of happiness; replacing slaughtered skin.
Holiness traces its steps over her soul by removing thin ruby lines,
Screaming in agony as it clears from her mind the evil within.

Overpowering craving takes over once more; resistance impossible.
Begging the crimson liquids to stop flowing; the evil to be oppressed,
Sacred water burns away the hatred; releasing the blood containing it,
Pleading to God to free her, pleading to God to save a girl possessed.

I finished it, but I left it downstairs... BUT IT'S DONE! lol ;)

Broken Dreams Belong To Me [Glosa Verse]

Her mind is tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes Benz.
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends.
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget.

Stuck inside a world that few, she'd ever show -
And yet, she wishes, somehow, that everyone could know.
"All those broken dreams belong to me," she sadly sighs;
Her mascara hides any traces her plastic appearance cries.
Crowded around her are all her so-called "friends";
She wishes that all the promises she broke she could somehow amend.
She cries black tears in the vulnerable, dead of night,
Wishing for someone to just come back and make it right.
But it always winds up hurting more in the end -
"...Her mind is tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes Benz."

Perfection is what she wanted, it was the only thing she craved,
So she took her mind out of the game and she put her heart on save.
Feelings don't matter, who really cares about those?
So hold you head up high Baby - strike a deadly pose.
Yet all those broken dreams can never really end,
Reminding her that deep down, she's still just playing pretend.
The only thing to fix it would be for all the nightmares to shatter -
Leaving her with only the friends who really, truly matter.
But for now, the only ones are the fakes she could happen to befriend.
"...She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends."

She has the hot boyfriend - she thought she had it all;
Once she hit rock bottom, there was no where else to fall.
Reality is just a word that means nothing to her -
Like a disease, she thought perfection was the cure.
Those broken dreams keep her life in check;
Causing this havoc and creating this wreck.
Broken inside, but she dares not show it -
Wishing that at least one of her "friends" could know it.
All the fake memories, oh how could she forget?
"...How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat."

Hidden behind lies, lip gloss and black
Is a heart with a hole, showing all she lacks.
Broken dreams belong to her - that's all she ever was;
There's no way to fix it, it's useless because -
She's living her life on perfection and regret.
A crumpled up doll the world just forgets.
So life's her favorite game; her heart's on save.
Dancing like a marionette, becoming her own slave.
It's all those broken dreams she will always fully regret.
"...Some dance to remember, some dance to forget."

The Terzanelle is a poetry type which is a combination of the villanelle and the
terza rima forms. It is a 19-line poem consisting of five interlocking triplets/tercets
plus a concluding quatrain in which the first and third lines of the first triplet appear
as refrains. The middle line of each triplet is repeated, reappearing as the last line
of the succeeding triplet with the exception of the center line of the next-to-the-last
stanza which appears in the quatrain. The rhyme and refrain scheme for the triplets
is as follows:

If you've got the face to launch a thousand ships,
Well I'm afraid I got the shit end of the bargain.
My lips don't flow like the waves and the moons and the tides,
But believe me, I have tried.
Still, those lines that I speak, they don't have much meaning,
And you can dissect them until they have even less,
We all (pretend to) know what you're feeling, but
It was only I, who thought my words could help you with this mess.

I could never even come close.

Your sharp tongue burst my dreams,
Life's balanced with more fragility then it seems.
I guess it was me who planted the seeds.

And the seeds grew into indifferent trees,
It was so lax it couldn't even make paper;
That's got two sides.
And you see, we really never had that.

Just when your apathy gets me down,

Tranquil shimmer in the eyes, time standing still
the distance of your gaze I can't bare, never again
will I drown in empathy; now when we're alone
I can't tell which one is part of unholy masquerade,
and which one is just ... washed away ...

Prophecies illuminate paths yet I'm so week in feet
pictures on the wall, black-eyed memories consume
all senses, as the rain falls down the windows...
... staining all glassy casements of the soul.

Tattooed on tongue all painful taboos, shades
of past and future entwined, burned down all together.
Enough... of sorrow... for today; whispers...
still, picture-frames on the shelves reflect my inner-self.

To rest, put the head on feathers of cloud's wings
fall asleep and dream forever... dreadful visions linger.
Dancing tango with my twisted brain, heart against mind
wrapped around heavy clouds, quietly moaning.

Our past is scheduled future... nothing's like traces
of believes in misty statements of foreseen madness;
You're not so profound to overcome it alone.
Darkened valleys of disharmonic sounds brought
a sympathetic numbness of omens in my sight...

Wings of Flames

With these wings I'll fly so high,
For all the days I've had to cry,
For all the times I've crashed and burned,
The wings will sour, and the fire will run.

My demons: squashed, with each small flap.
Pride returns at the completion of each lap.
My past floats behind me, gone with the wind.
I look up high, and I start to grin.

My life has meaning, once again,
But what time is this? I stopped counting after ten.
It's the same sorry story, the memorised tale;
My life at the start before it begins to fail.

So with these wings I'll soar so high,
Forgetting those tears I used to cry.
But this feeling won't last long, it'll take a turn,
And these wings of flames will fall and burn.

Okay. I`m not going to extend this,
I know a few of you have personal
stuff going on or whatever it may
be, and I`m sorry, but I`m going
to close it after tonight. Since I will
more than likely be 3 short, it just
means that there will be fewer placings
in the next round. Since only 2 of
you have contacted me with titles you
would like me to read, I`m going to
choose any, I want to get them done
tonight while I have free time. If I
don`t get to yours, I promise I will.

A sidenote, if you still want to get your
poem in, I will more than likely be busy
all week and you can PM it to me and I
will take it into consideration. I get busy
during the week so I`ll only be able to
judge it little by little. Thanks for the
patience and for taking interest in this
contest. I look forward to reading

Okay, so there will be eight people going into the next one. The next round gets a little harder, I think lol. And then the third round will have four people going into it.
