Anyone NOT like anime

Lol.

Full Metal Alchemist is the only decent one. The allusions the Nazi Germany annoy the hell out of me though (I'm German, sore topic).

Another thing I hate is how they'll spend five minutes on the same damn scene. They stretch it out as long as they can so they can make more shows and thus more profit on a shorter story. And in anime impossible things always happen: like one ninja killing fifty soldiers all armed with assault rifles, a samurai sword cutting a boulder in two, people getting hit with an explosive and then walking out of the the debris and fire completely unhurt either without a scratch or with their shirt a little singed. It's all stupid and unbelievable.

^^ Yet again, I disagree. It's not the only good one.

Hey, some animes.. yeah, they suck, but you just aren't watching the right ones.

Anime is art, like Gab said. It's something that doesn't have to be "real" to be good. Anime allows you to extend your imagination and there are no limits to it. I think that's a wonderful thing personally. Why should everything be real and believable? Why not break that barrier for once and get outside the box. Try something new and exciting!

WHAT?!! This thread makes me cry!! I love anime!! I agree with Rikku, and it really depends on the anime you watch!! You know what? Anime can be educational too! it has so many messages hidden inside them! Like in Naruto and in Fruits basket! You can learn from it! *Runs away crying*

Okay...I notice that sometimes in anime when someone falls off a cliff they fall about halfway down and they fall for a lonmg time then suddenly they are at the top again and someone grabs their hand.

I already set the age to 25 (read up a little) but 17 works too.

I have to say i love anime but im not totally obesessed..... although i have around 700 anime pictures :D but im picky with what i watch

Yeah I've noticed some anime shows are really really bad. I agree that there's no age limit, though. Some anime shows are directed towards teens some towards adults and some towards little kids. You can still like anime as an adult just as long as it's not like all you care about. I think that's creepy. lol Some anime/manga can really touch you though. I personally think the best is Fruits Basket. It has comedy, fighting, romance, and real life situations.

I dont see the big deal, and i hardly know anyone who's into it. i agree that all the characters look the same, and i prefer real people and real writing

what some people don't understand is that it is real writing. do you call a book trash just cause there's no real people in it? you could write a graphic novel on something that has happened. the writing is real.

I draw alot of anime....but i've never seen shows or anything....alot of poeple seem to like it....

Anime is not art. Half of it is poorly drawn. I could draw better for crying out loud! I could never grasp how someone could spend half an hour or more staring at cartoons. The only programs that are even worth bothering about air on the history channel or the military channel. Anime isn't creative or imaginative. Anime is just a collection of predictable stories filled with impossible odds and stupid characters and situations.

Serious, I could go on and on about how much I think that watching military is a COMPLETE waste of time, but I'm not like that. I don't try to put other peoples interests down, got that?
They are NOT predictable. But hey, if you think you're so great and can predict what will happen in an anime, then predict what is gonna happen in the next Fruits Basket book? I bet you $999999999 you could NEVER do that! Only Natsuki Takaya can! So, give it a shot. What'll happen in these "predictable stories filled with impossible odds and stupid characters and situations" as you so annoyingly put it?

Also, I think that drawing anime and manga is a better thing to do in your spare time than stare at a TV. It could help if you actually do some sort of physical work, besides moving your eyes to read the next commercial.

Wow Hari.... You just went all out... I know your feelings on anime all too well. I just watched my favorite episode of Naruto last night... episode 109. It had so much meaning in it, and I could relate to it.

Art is unpredictible.
anime is art.
it's that simple.
if you see a famous masterpiece in a museum or something, you don't always like it. but that doesn't mean its not art.
the wonderful thing about manga is that it's a mixture of art and words. whoever creates it spends their time making it: drawing the pictures, and writing the story.
it's hard. if u don't believe me, try sometime.

The only cartoons I watch are The simpsons and Spongebob (spongebob rocks okay, Im never to old for spongebob *dont diss the Sponge*)

I prefer horrors and thrillers and stuff like that, I watch Bones, Supernatural, etc.
I personally think that cartoons should be for comedy shows only, thats my opinion, I no some anime is comedy but som of it is sooooo serious! Thats what bugs me, and yah, they all look the same, they're supposed to be Asian right? They COMPLETLY americanized their phyisical apearance! That bothers me to.

^ They are not all asian. There are a lot of books about North America. Gravitation takes place in the US at times.

but yea. hari's right. not all anime is asian, and some of the asian ones are about americans or take place in america.... etc etc.

What im saying is that it originated from Japan or wherever and they shouldn't have to mak it american for it to sell more.
