When intelligent people commit suicide...it doesn't speak well of intelligence.

It was suicide, right? Not confirmed, but an overdose of sleeping pills..hm.

So sad, I really enjoyed him as an actor, A knight's Tale is one of my favorite movies. It is a shame, he was only 28 and had such a promising career ahead of him.

I heard it on the news first thing this morning.
The medias first cause of death is always drug overdose and how pills were found scattered around him. But I seriously doubt he died of drug overdose. He was a great actor and starred in some amazing films.

The family is saying it was an accident, and there was no way it could have been a suicide. I personally, really hope that what they're saying is true. Heath Ledger just didnt seem the type to just commit suicide, like there was never much Hollywood scandal surrounding him, y'know? it was more like, the honest top bloke.

I like all his movies, but i admit i havent seen broke back mountain..

RIP Heath.

He was always my favourite. Grew up a few minutes from his street and always told my hubby that out of everyone famous I would want to meet and chat with him the most - so down to earth and very level headed. I dont think it was suicide but you know what those vultures the paparazzi are like... if I could swear at them on this site, I would. Always in his face and portraying him as an arrogant person when all he wanted was his personal life to stay private.

I will miss his movies and most of all his amazing smile.

I refused to believe he was dead when my English teacher brought it up in class this morning. It upset me so much. I remembered his role in The Patriot and Ned Kelly, and soon read in the newspaper that he'd recently finished filming the new Batman, in which he was playing Joker. The film is out this summer; but what a dull premiere it shall be. My prayers are with him and his family, friends and fellow actors.

Rest in peace, Heath.

Actually some reporst says he started having trouble sleeping while filming batman, he cant get rid of his role, its always on his mind...

They won't know for about 10 days as to why he died.
The post mortem[sp?] results were inconclusive.

Yeah thats the most updated info the cause of death but the authentic result will be in more 10days

They do not think it was suicide. They think it was tragic accident.
They are releasing his body to the family today or tomorrow, can't remember which one.

^Apparently he was trying to hold down a heroin and cocaine addiction he had last year.

But quite honestly, I don't think the drug abuse is just to blame. When gifted with talent and awarded with fame, celebrity life can take someone in several directions, some good...some not so good.

His split from Michelle Williams devastated him and had him in severe depression, and he didn't see his three year old daughter much either.

"Friends said that Heath desperately tried to avoid taking drugs at a party in December, although he was later spotted partaking in his car" - not directly quoted from The Mirror newspaper.

He was followed by the press everywhere he went. I wouldn't be surprised if he felt exploited in a way; and that is a risk most budding actors have to deal with.

Everyone is dying lately. ever since my friend died in august, it seems all these celebs are dying!

He wasn't found with pills strewn all over the place, that was hearsay, they were in his medicine cabinet, bedroom and another room, still in the bottle according to the police.

Some guy on Good morning America (I know I'm Australian, but I was awake at 5am. Go figure) said that he knew Heath was having trouble sleeping.

Heath had said in interviews that the joker part really stressed him and he was having trouble sleeping.

Poor guy... my thoughts are for his family... his poor daughter

Omg. I cant believe how sad this is. theyve been playing it on the news for the past 24 hours straight. I feel bad for his daughter, shes so young that she probably wont remember her dad at all.

I think it's absolutely terrible. I never really deal with death and for some reason it hasn't fazed me yet, but this really is sad. I just started to see his movies and he was a great actor. My prayers go out to his family, especially his little daughter.

Exactly why you should have more than one doctors opinion. Because this seems to be counting for over 7,000 deaths a year in America, which is just madness.

Yeah he didnt commit suicide and he actually didnt take alot of the pills he had but coz he took them all at the same time, like 5 different ones they were lethal combined.
it does suck. I loved heath he was definitely one of my fav actors and it was a shock.
friend sent me a txt the morning of it and i thought she was kidding.
