Sudden Damnation

by Stephanie   Sep 21, 2014

The rain pours down

in the dead of the night

from the clouds in the sky

comes a rumble of fright

The ground starts to shake

and the wind whips around

crashing down trees

all through the town

The people are running

scared for their lives

as instinct kicks in

they fight to survive

The lightning falls

striking innocent souls

where there once were lives

there are now only holes

Holes in the lives

of the people left standing

in nothing but ruins

and misunderstanding

The life that was left

without explanation

looks for the meaning

of their sudden damnation
