Inside Out

by young   Mar 23, 2014

Lying sleepless in the night
Life seems unclear and unright
It's emotionless and bland
Yet rough as bark across my hand

Genuine laughs are hard to find
Happy words and thoughts unkind
Their countenance bright betrays
The rotting heart inside them lay

They sympathize with those impaired
While their intentions never share
I felt the pain and heard the lies
The world darkened in my eyes

My heart once thumped at things unfelt
My eyes had shone at cards undealt
My head was filled with future plans
A Steady mind and busy hands

Now the same subjects cross my mind
The same rhythm in my lines
And it's as if I'm peeling
From the inside out I'm disappearing
