Fearful Hearts

by Elle   Jul 22, 2014

I have noticed the children whose only comfort was hate
Who are wary and cautious towards
Kind hands and caring hearts
Who flinch as if burned from a simple touch
The mistrust so clear in their eyes
The falter in their step like a rhythm
Look for the child with the black cloud
Hovering above them, silently calculating
For the next thunderstorm to sieze control
Witness as they mold themselves into believing
They are too damaged to be loved
Let them understand that even on rainy days
The sun is merely hiding
Waiting for the storm to pass
And for the rain to wipe away all of their fears

Op beautifully presented a thing so delicate, yet giving it enough power to play with our hearts

I really adore this little piece, I connect with it well and think it was nicely portrayed for the readers to receive a message.

I really think your title speak volumes, good choice.

I am not a fun of unpunctuated work, but other than that, I enjoyed this.
