A new chapter

by Jack mac   Nov 5, 2015

I'm on my way now
far away from here,
I've dug a deep hole and
filled it with my fear,
Filled it back up and
watered it with a tear
Now I'll watch as a new flower grows in a fresh space,
As I'm off to new places, filled with all different races
All that's left is traces,
Of the streets I once walked
To the people I once talked to,
And the towns that I passed through.
On a more emotional note, I am sad to leave it all behind
But I know it will be better - for soul, spirit and mind
I will always remember my roots and the people I once knew
I hope they will remember me too, and in a few years it won't be " Jack who?"
Be happy that it happened and not sad it came to an end,
I made many friends, some truer than
others I won't pretend,
Those ones I will stay in touch, and the rest I won't think of much
And so the decisions I chose leads my life here to a close,
I'd like to thank everyone I respect for being here,
raise a glass,
shout cheers,
Ching the beers and fight off the tears.
I would be an idiot to say I don't look ahead and feel a degree of fear,
But its certainly a cooler degree than I am feeling here.
