The Mess

by Nigel   Nov 30, 2015

Life's pace has been a blinding haze
As my memories don't reflect no childhood craze
But in place of those were days
Of mental maze and stupefying daze
That in magnitude caused me to laze
About in fantasy's embrace,
Always having to brace
Myself for whatever new problem that would set my heart ablaze.

As months became years
My cares grew less
To the point of becoming heartless
A heartless mess with less cares.
My indifference in my affairs
Was mistaken for strength in my despairs

And I, the heartless mess with less cares
Couldn't care less
