The Little Red Rose

The Little Red Rose

Beauty whom no one could ever compare,
A little red rose on Valentine's Day.
The scent of its pure love filled the air,
It was happy though no word it could say.

Other flowers it saw brightly a glow,
As if they understood what the day meant.
Standing tall, their symbol of love to show,
As cards of care to others were sent.

Joy surrounded the little red flower,
As children scurried from here to there.
Chocolates stacked up high like a tower,
Not one saddened face was found anywhere.

But soon it was forgotten, put away,
Cold, lost, and alone on Valentine's Day.
