Sleepless

I close my eyes
hoping time will pass
Every night without you
seems longer then the last

If I could only sleep
it would help time progress
Being without you
is causing me much stress

Another hour passed
but still half the night awaits
It's almost unbearable
as the need for your kiss grows

Tired of the restless nights
it's getting to be too much
Hold my pillows tightly
longing to feel your touch

From my window a ray of hope appears
as the sun creeps the horizon
So ends another sleepless night
soon to be a faded memory of my past
