Learning Lessons

by Beautiful Chaos   Apr 22, 2008

I have learned that life,
Is never what it seems,
But, it's everything we want,
If we hold on to our dreams.

Sometimes the road is lonely,
This just helps us learn,
Sometimes the path seems crowded,
Reality harsh and stern.

This is where we find,
Just what we hold inside,
Life is like a roller coaster,
Winding crazy ride.

I've learned that if I hold on,
The downs are not so bad,
It's when I let that hatred in,
That darkness drives me mad.

I must pull myself away,
For a new day to begin,
Nothing good can come,
From that hatred held within.

I've learned that love, is not love
If it never hurts at all,
A baby bird can never fly,
If at first it does not fall.

The world is balance, good and bad,
That we can not change,
And nothing good can come from life,
If love is not exchanged.

I've seen regret, a shameless act,
No courage in the heart,
To learn that lesson and face that truth,
Is to paint a work of art.

Life is full of so much beauty,
Though ugliness does abound,
If we can not find it,
We refuse it to be found.
