What a Mother should be

by Michael D Nalley   May 1, 2008

Let your heart feel, let your mind go free
Let your soul soar as you listen to me
We shall explore what a mother should be

Imagine a sweet angel far above
The earth and our conditional love
Is that not what your mother is made of?

God the Father thought to send
His children a loving trustworthy friend
Faithful and loyal to the bitter end

Of all the loves that have came and went
None may match those which are heaven sent
Mothers day thus is a holy event

A quait read, I think. A nice gesture. The title threw me off a bit; I was expecting something more personal. You see, alot of us have mothers that ought to be something else, if that makes sense. Nonetheless, its a sweet one and a nice add to your collection.

A good piece, well, I liked it anyway. I'm not crazy about the three line stanzas, but hey, poetry's about exploration, so I'm happy to get on board with it.

This was sweet. It made me want to write something for my mother.
Every line in this was true, and I loved it.
