Come and Gone

by Norman John Henry Campbell   May 5, 2008

I sit here on this hill
And remember us sitting
Here, laughing and loving
The good times now come
And gone.

We didn't see each other
For ages, but I don't think
You believed what I said
But really it's the truth.
I look at our photos
Still and remember the
Greatest times we had
Those times now come and gone.

Yet but still I do, I
Sit here and try not
Too cry surrounded
By people, I use that mask
The one I used all my life
The one you managed to
Infiltrate, the one you managed
Too destroy.

Why can't I sit here
And not think of you
I love you, I miss you
And I truly wonder if
You feel the same.
Now lyrics for two
Out of Three Ain't Bad
Starts and it reminds me of
You,

"I need you,
I want you
But there ain't no way
I'm ever gonna love you
Now don't be sad"

I think about you when
I hear that song did you know?
You need me, you want me, but
There ain't no way you're gonna
Love me.

I think you did love me once
I tried to scare you off, but
Also warn you. I was molested
I said to you and you held me
You held me while I cried.
But you didn't leave me.

I said you could do better then
I but you never believed me,
You never left me, I praised the
Gods for bringing you into my life.

But those times have come and gone
And once again I cry, and once again
I use my mask, the one I show to the
World. The one you never believed,
The one you destroyed. I love you still
Did you know?

But now it's too late
For my time here is
Finished, and I end my
Mask, I end my pain,
And I end this my life.
