Jack and Jill of Need

by Fiend in the Iron Maiden   Aug 15, 2008

Jack and jill ran up a hill
To Fitch some gold and sliver
Never would they know the threat that would
The one that would be deliver

Quick the ran, and quickly they run, trying to find the gold
Pushing and shoving, yelling and screaming, money being the only goal
They didnt care about one another, only there priceless gems
Oh how forsaken they have become, what has become of them

They finally get to the hill, and they both look at the chest
Both of them screamed, for they had nothing left!

The both screamed out, accusing one another, not caring about their one another
So the Devil raised, bring a ax, and swung with all his might,
Now they have never been seen, expect that night.

So if you hear a scream, or a shout, a cry that is around you deep in the night
Cover your self up, for you shall be covered in fright
It would be the scream of Jake and Jill with their lusting greed
The devil might your soul down to hell, with jack and Jill of "Need, Need, and Need"

Wow, this poem is so true on so many levels. i loved the way you took a sweet nursery rhyme and made it into something deep and dark. greed is a demon that will drive people to kill. great poem. 5/5. one of my favorites.
