This Is My Dream

by Krista   Sep 11, 2008

Dream while you can
because time isn't so long.
Only a few mere hours
can we escape from reality,
into a life where we feel
comfort, love, and safety.
This is my dream.

A world with no wars,
peace is like light that brightly
illuminates the dark corners
of this planet we call home.
It seems like it's not achievable
but time will tell us.
This is my dream.

No more fences, no more cages of guilt,
I want to be free.
Free of the neglect in the world,
free of the carelessness I've seen.
Free of the life on the streets,
the streets I walk daily.
This is my dream.

I'm crazy enough, but my fragile mind,
has the power to think, dream, live.
Think about this society we belong to,
dream of a better world,
live like I am dying.
I can't take the pain in the world.
These, my friends, are our dreams.

It's good. It makes me think of myself when I read it, especially the second time around. It's what we all dream and wish for, but yet we know its not possible. very relate-able. Good work
