Violent Blue

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Dec 5, 2008

Roses grow redder
Her eyes violent blue
As they tear apart the nothing
That meant everything to you

All small talk aside
I'm so sorry it hurts
You're not acknowledging that
I don't know what's worse

Then the colours shuffle
Like they are breaking their dance
But all of these patterns
Where picked in advanced

These roses are red
The sky violent blue
The light caused light
To reflect off of you

The rain bounced off your cheeks
The moon glowed in your eyes
Now the colours are torn
Speak no witness, bear no lies

Then the colours shift
Like they are breaking their dancers
And you drew blue hearts on your hand
Something about them made you feel better

These roses are red
My lips, cold and blue now
Shivering in the snow
But where are you now?

Roses grow redder: when I was a little kid we had roses in my backyard, one year it snowed before they all fell off. The colder it got the redder the roses were

Her eyes violent blue: at first i was going to write violet blue, but i thought that the violent playful fierce nature of ur eyes.. it was more fitting

As they tear apart the nothing
That meant everything to you: i dont actually have a something, i dont actually have a concrete ambition or goal. im easily broken and easily hurt.

    All small talk aside
I'm so sorry it hurts: I wanted to know what it was u were thinking, and what you felt, all i got was small things. not insignificant. small

    You're not acknowledging that
I don't know what's worse: I tried to get you to talk about it and it didnt work and i felt replaced and useless and third wheel on a unicycle

Then the colours shuffle: I had this toy and it separates the colours when it goes throught the parts, they all fall in different ways and i always tried to get them to fall in a rainbow but i dont think the toy could do that
    s
Like they are breaking their dance
    But all of these patterns
Where picked in advanced: i desperately wished i could make them do something they couldnt do, i tried. then i gave up. i think my mom sold the toy anyway

    These roses are red
    The sky violent blue
    The light caused light
To reflect off of you: dream a long time ago about you and me at the dancehall

The rain bounced off your cheeks
The moon glowed in your eyes: that was part of the dream, the moon glowed in ur eyes, it always glowed in your eyes

Now the colours are torn: i just had this image of all the colours melting away from my dream just like my toy did

Speak no witness, bear no lies: if you don't tell anyone what u see u wont have any lies given back to you. its a pun on ask no questions hear no lies

    Then the colours shift
Like they are breaking their dancers: almost repatition, but it says dancers, not dance. they arent breaking the pattern anymore, its breaking the dancer

And you drew blue hearts on your hand
Something about them made you feel better: you put a heart on your hand when you felt loved, i remember that because the first dream i ever had of you i kissed you where that heart was

    These roses are red
My lips, cold and blue now: it was talking about how its getting colder where i am and my lips are turning blue

Shivering in the snow: same as above

But where are you now?: hows the weather in california, where are u now as in do u still love me, where are u now as in what are u doing, are u laughing, are u smiling, are u thinking about me, are they good thoughts... the list is ongoing
