Kite

by Hawaiian Chick   Dec 5, 2008

Two wings unfurl and stretch and yawn,
too long ago flown above the lawn.
Fly out the door and into the air,
free, finally free, without a care.
Diving, swirling, looping in the sky,
rising in the air, getting ready to fly.
Up, up, up, and away it goes,
will it stop? nobody knows.

The wind holds it's hand, for support and trust,
sailing smoothly together, cooperation's a must.
Past the clouds toward the sun,
toward the light, warmth, and fun.
No boundaries, no limits or rules,
keeps going up, 'till I tug on the spool.
