The Girl who Ran

by Hawaiian Chick   Dec 6, 2008

The girl looked across the water,
feeling the salt against her skin.
Wondering if this was the beginning,
or would the endless sea win?

The tears dripped down her cheeks,
and rippled down below,
feeling the hurt rip her inside,
hoping no one else would know.

The sunset reflected on the waves,
glistened like the sun,
the beauty all around her,
reassured her why she'd run.

There was no turning back now,
as the ship pushed onward still.
Praying a new life was waiting,
one that would suit her will.
